Albanese is using this complete dissolving of any meaningful opposition as a once-in-a-century opportunity to still not do much.I have no words.
It kinda sucks that we don't have a functional opposition.
There does need to be a viable solution to Australia’s energy challenge.Albanese is using this complete dissolving of any meaningful opposition as a once-in-a-century opportunity to still not do much.

Fixed it for you.The next Liberal voter hasn't even been born yet.
The following insights are worth a listen to.The next Liberal PM hasn't even been born yet.
Albanese is using this complete dissolving of any meaningful opposition as a once-in-a-century opportunity to still not do much.
Don't get me wrong, I give daily thanks to the almighty we don't have PM Peter Dutton, but Albo could do so much more. This really is a once in a century opportunity, but Albanese just isn't that guy.Albo needs to get rid of his PR team. A lot of his achievements have flown under the radar.
He's run a steady ship and knocked off a few wins after inheriting a decade long absolute cluster**** of rorts and mismanagement.
He's not flashy and he's not doing anything out of the ordinary but I'll take a million little positive changes over a term of selling pieces of our country to appease your big wig mates.
Albo needs to get rid of his PR team. A lot of his achievements have flown under the radar.
But it is very National. There does need to be a viable solution to Australia’s energy challenge.
The difference is Labor is at least looking for a solution.
The Liberals are pure protectionism. Which from my understanding is about the most un-liberal thing possible![]()
Did you ever consider that Albanese is a big part of why the Coalition is imploding?Albanese is using this complete dissolving of any meaningful opposition as a once-in-a-century opportunity to still not do much.
As if the case in the other anglo countries, the talent on the conservative side are squatting in the nominal left party.A conservative thesis for keeping a net zero target.
It has been a thesis of mine for many years that in practice conservative doesn't mean what it used to. Hardly anyone in the GOP is a conservative any more. Too many who claim to be conservative currently in the Liberal Party also fall foul of this IMO.
They could implode out of existence and he'll still not do a singe ****ing thing of substance.Did you ever consider that Albanese is a big part of why the Coalition is imploding?

Agree.
But what would be the point, strategically? - to satisfy the relatively few people like us who give a damn about politics between elections and chatter about it on social media platforms like this one? Fact is that most of them/us have already made up their mind on whether the Albanese Government is a good one so why waste money and firepower preaching to those who are already committed to a team.
The smart thing surely is to save up the ammunition until the weeks before an election and when the majority of people are are in the mood to contemplate who to vote for. That's when the accounting is done.
Until then leave it up to the media to tell their story about the issues, the successes and the failures rather than joining a pointless partisan shitfight. And as a poster said in this thread earlier, it's the media that sets the agenda by what they choose to report on and what they choose to ignore.
Our voting system has the huge positive of protecting us from the worst predations of the right wingThey could implode out of existence and he'll still not do a singe ****ing thing of substance.
Right now Albo has all the power required to make meaningful change so that workers can afford to live near where they work, he could end the horrifically cruel poverty of unemployment, he could do something about the free-range mental illness cluster****. He could do any number of things to greatly improve the nation and instead he'll do incrementally **** all and continue the bullshit. But at least he's pretend to care. Our voting system has the huge positive of protecting us from the worst predations of the right wing
Sadly it is a two edged sword and keeps Labor policy from being Labour policy.
Menzies and Howard both slowly ground the country down to what they desired with term after term after term of small but constant erosion and restructuring.
I'd like Labor to do that for a decade or two.

Right now Albo has all the power required to make meaningful change so that workers can afford to live near where they work, he could end the horrifically cruel poverty of unemployment, he could do something about the free-range mental illness cluster*. He could do any number of things to greatly improve the nation and instead he'll do incrementally * all and continue the bullshit. But at least he's pretend to care.![]()
