Do we think that Man City will give us a marquee player next season?
We'll definitely get one of their development players who is likely to be a gun, but not getting game time

OR

we could get a guy like Curtis Good back.

Having Germano back makes a huge difference. The only player in the team who can offer any defensive cover in midfield.

Some of his strong cross ground passing was sublime. I knew he was our forgotten man.
JA has been unlucky this season, no Germano, HK, Orlando.
But JVS is also a very astute tactician, you can hear him on ground constantly giving instructions that make sense, and they listen to him.

The reasoning supposedly being he was leaving at the end of the year anyway and we wanted to focus on players staying for the long term. Never really fulfilled his potential anyway, barely played recently and hasn't scored.

It appears the clean out is starting. I wonder who is next *cough*Missdud*cough*

I don't know about a designated marquee (think it's a fair bet though that whoever is signed as the international marquee will probably be one of the biggest international names to ever play in the A-League), but the amount of transfers from City to Heart on loan deals will probably hinge on what rules the FFA decides to implement, based on this unique partnership. If they do nothing, it's pretty obvious to see how easily we could abuse the standard loan deals, so it's likely that if Heart does get City players on loan, the rule would either be that Heart needs to bear some of the cost in the salary cap, or that there is a limit allowed (probably one) per season.

An Australian marquee would be nice as well.

Would love Robbie Kruse.
Rated him in his Victory days, and he'll need some time coming off a reco.

Are you 100% sure? Just finished having a heated debate with a friend over it, he is trying to tell me it's not televised ...

Both the online Foxtel TV Guide and the one on the Fox website are saying that they are. Considering how good it is for the station's marketing to be able it broadcasts every game live, I reckon they'll make a bit of effort to get there.

So happy considering I support both sides. I wouldn't even care if we become City Jr.

The Herald Sun is reporting that Aaron Mooy will join Heart after Western Sydney's Asian Champions League campaign.

Solid signing.

And Bresciano is training with Heart at the moment and is apparently a possibility to sign with the club and play the final few games of the season, once his suspension is over.

They are really making some positive moves.

And this is the thing. Yeah, we can't just blow everyone away with contract offers, given the salary cap. But, in the past, Heart would be at a competitive disadvantage against teams like Victory, Sydney and perhaps Brisbane to secure the services of potential recruits (due to a lack of success and lack of interest), assuming the contract offers were equal, now the whole process has been flipped and if a single recruit is offered the same deal from Victory, Sydney and us, we'll be a massive chance to get him, due to the Manchester City link and the promise of getting in on the ground floor of something that could be absolutely massive.

It seemed Mooy was going to the Heart before the City deal was formalised. And apparently he's turned down a few offers that'd see him be an Aussie marquee. Any idea why he's so set on Heart?
