The Israeli parliament has approved a law giving the government the power to ban broadcasts of TV channels including Al Jazeera, the Qatari-owned network.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would "act immediately" to close the network's local office.

The US expressed concern over the move.

With foreign journalists banned from entering Gaza, Al Jazeera staff based in the strip have been some of the only reporters able to cover the war on the ground.

The Knesset, Israel's parliament, approved the bill allowing foreign networks considered a threat to national security to be "temporarily" banned.

Is that in response to what journalists have exposed what Israel has done to Al-Shifa hospital?

Maybe the most (which is saying something) disgusting acts of violence against civilians since the Israelis started the genocide. One of the few times I couldn’t watch the videos, it’s that bad.

What is even the point of Israel justifying shit anymore.
The world has seen enough.

Wind shit back to 1947, let Jews, Christians and Palestinians co exist and call it Palestine.

The Zionist project has committed enough damage. We don't need another 76 years of this crap.

I wouldn't lose sleep over Netanyahu being offed. He's a criminal.

But let's not pretend there isn't a big difference between an elected leader and a military leader on the ground.
Do you know anything about the history of Israel?

Ben Gurion? Irgun? Lehi? Haganah?

All theories about weather or not Israel bombed the hospital goes out the window and when you look at the carnage what the Israeli have now done. Shit, bombing it is less evil than the recent atrocity.

I thought our government, and other Israeli allies could not stoop lower than turning a blind eye by continuing to support the genocide, but this takes the cake. It should be the moment when their allies pull back support. Literally bulldozing people. It’s an absolute disgrace that the leaders of our country stand by these genocidal monsters.

What’s it going to take for Israel’s allies to start putting pressure on Israel to stop the genocide? Will they wait till Israel lines Palestinians in front of mass graves and line them up for execution?

This is a map from a few weeks ago that shows Israel’s bombing of Gaza. Don’t know how anyone can see this and think it’s anything other than genocide

The bastards want to start on Rafah.

Israel simply does not care. They have the US in their pocket, the UK and Europe.
That's all it needs.

The reality is if either one of us happened to be innocently killed by the IDF, either on holiday, volunteering or in a crossfire - the Australian government could not give a shit. They would do nothing. Today proves it.
Israel needs to be de-colonised, de militarised and Zionism declared racism once again, as it was in the 1970's.
The world had it right once upon a time. Before the lobbying started. And now look where we are.

As as Australian, you can die in literally any other country in the world, and the ambassador would be recalled, there would be 24-7 media coverage, it would be the top agenda at parliament house to demand answers. But if Israel kills you, your life does not matter. You're collateral damage.
Its too f***ed up

This is apparentley the car the aid workers were in:

The Le Monde description of a US built weapon - Hellfire variant - that uses blades to kill its targets rather than explosives, to prevent "collateral damage".

Did the Israelis use a weapon normally deployed on Al Qaeda on ... aid workers?

So why are you against terrorism and military leaders of other middle Eastern countries? You appear to support Israel.

So... it's complicated.

I support Israel's right to exist and to defend itself. For some people (and a growing number), that fact alone makes me a 'zionist'.

I do not support Likud or Netanyahu at all, and absolutely believe Palestine should be a free and independent nation. I also strongly believe that Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza and should be held accountable. I think 'settlers' are awful in 90%~ of cases. I think hardliners in Israel have absolutely lost the plot after decades of living in a country surrounded by nations that literally call for Israel to be wiped off the face of the earth.

I think a massive rise in anti-semitism has occurred and too many people are using the Gaza atrocities to thinly-disguise or excuse their bigotry. Which has been seen in this very thread, too.

The only thing that I would implore you to do is to email the PM as well as the foreign minister. It may seem insignificant but if enough of us are putting pressure on our own government they will have no choice but to change their views. I’ve emailed both , every week. I never used to question the government and always believed they had my best interest at heart but given what’s happened over the last few years and particularly what’s going on right now , I don’t know how anyone can trust them.
This needs to end

What exactly is anti semitism? The moment anyone questions what the Israelis are doing in Gaza , you’re called an anti semite. For me personally this isn’t an attack on Jews (I know many Jews that are actively against what is going on in Gaza) What the IDF are doing is having huge ramifications on people’s perceptions of Israel. If I met someone from Israel I don’t automatically hate them . I would definitely ask them if they support what the IDF are doing in Gaza and if they answered yes then I would be disgusted. Is this anti semitism? People aren’t buying this anymore , you can’t do what they are doing and expect decent humans to accept this . History will remember this and Israel will pay for their crimes. Sadly in the interim we have innocent women and children being murdered and or starved to death

The only ones I have written to are my local member and federal member. Both are Greens, so sadly Adam Bandt and his party are the only ones with the balls to have called this out. Not from October 7 or April 1st, but all time.

Albo has been bought. He is compromised. As PM, he and Wong have to work with the Zionist lobby or their political careers are over. I know what I get with the racist campaigners at UAP and ON and the Libs/Nats. But these other 2 are two faced cowards. Weak campaigners. They have burnt so many of their voters the past 6 months.

It brings me to the next Federal election. I have never voted Greens in my life. I doubt as a professionally employed Caucasian male that any of their policies would be relevant to me or my profession.
But f*** when it comes to genocide - you are either for it or against it.
So I will vote Green at every election from now on, state and federal until another Party decides to grow a pair of balls. F*** Jacinta Allen too. She's another weak compromised hack.

The only reason Israel exists is because of zionists.

Having leaned about the persecution of of Jews throughout history, I honestly don’t blame the Jewish people for wanting to find a safe place to simply exist without persecution. It’s pretty amazing that they’re not only still around, but are thriving, incredible really.

What the Israeli state is doing now is vile and evil. Personally I don’t see that as a reflection on Jewish people, but even I have seen a rise in antisemitism. Israel through their cruelty towards Palestine has raised antisemitism to a level that I haven’t seen in my lifetime.

Doesn't seem that complicated. Terrorist organisation becomes terrorist country with terrorist PM. All run by Zionists.

This antisemitism you are seeing has been explained many times in this thread and it will continue to grow as a result of Israels actions and the inaction of the West. This is plain as day and logical.

I have only seen one post in here that was clearly antisemitic and it was universally called out.

It's not really that black-and-white.

Two things can be simultaneously true;

Israel is committing atrocities in Gaza
and
Israel has one of (if not the) best intelligence services in the world and a strike against an Iranian General in Syria was likely to be pretty damned justified
No it isn't. They're trying to provoke a wider war.

Why is anyone in Syria? Not because of a failed attempt by the US to drive regime change surely.

And why did Israel invade Lebanon in 1982, champ?

Because they wanted to attack the PLO and falsely blamed them for an attack by Abu Nidal on diplomatic staff in the UK.

It's the definition of Zionism.

What is Israel though? Is it a religious state, exclusive of others?

I think officially they are supposed to be inclusive of other faiths and cultures, but in reality, non Jews are an inconvenience to the vision.

Unless they redefine the Zionism, this will keep happening and the concept of Israel will ultimately fail. They have to share the place, especially with the original inhabitants.

Netanyahu changed the Basic Law to make it legally a Jewish state

Do you think Mossad would be capable of knocking off Western leaders who didn't tow the line? The continued support of Israel's policy in Gaza is beyond comprehension. Maybe they are spooked.

What even is the end game now?

Why IS anti semitism increasing the longer the war goes on?

Capable most certainly, would they do it though with all the political risk?

Doubt it. Tbh they're more likely to knock off their own PM at this stage.
