Really dunno what to make of this, but is this what social media has come to?

“An Australian influencer has been forced to defend her decision to share a photo of her deceased baby online after receiving backlash from her followers.

Veruca Salt posted the picture of her late baby son, Cash, as her lay embalmed in his coffin to her Instagram stories on Tuesday.

The post sparked heated debate online, with some defending Veruca’s decision, while others found the photo to be too confronting to be shared to the internet.

The Gold Coast influencer has since spoken her truth and addressed the torrent of hate she received in the wake of the post.

“Ya’ll come onto a grieving mothers Instagram and be shocked when you see that there is actually a dead baby. Genuine question, are you stupid? Are you slow?” she said in a video posted to Instagram stories.

“You want me to explain in detail the horrible things that have happened. How did he die? What happened with your baby daddy? . . . .But then you bitch and moan when you actually see it.

“He’s embalmed in a coffin and he looks beautiful, so you can suck it.”

Many of the people who spoke out against Veruca took issue with the photo because they claim they were not presented with a content warning before the image appeared on their screen.

A sensitive content warning has since been added to the photo, warning users the image may be upsetting.“
I follow Veruca and I have mixed feelings.

There was NO warning that a photo of her deceased baby was going to pop up. I remember the first time at work, I was looking for a reference number and I was flipping through a file and bam an A4 coloured printout photo of a deceased male. My heart dropped, I felt sick.

I can’t imagine the feeling of majority of the viewers feel after seeing that.

I also feel bad for Veruca, she is clearly struggling.

So when’s the book on Parenting coming out?
Last year I had a hole to dig him out of at school .... was gonna have to apologise to 6 families and 4 staff members .... and just this last few days he's been pinged for drawing/making stories about WWII that are apparently inappropriate. Nothing sinister, just a kid drawing soldiers shooting other soldiers, but it's the same sooky staff member .... his problems stem from having a parent that grew up when I did .... he'll be right :)

I think it is, and so much more. We see war live on tv, the tragedy of what people do to other people. Don't folk broadcast themselves suiciding?? Social media whilst good and fun and interesting has a lot to answer for mental health wise, social behaviour wise and whatever else .... The good, the bad and the ugly. Posting a pic of a dead baby is not my thing, and as Ligma put, she's clearly struggling. Strange days indeed, or the Worlds f#cked, or both. Grumpy old sigh.

Personally, still blame old Man Kraks for teaching me the alternative (?) lyrics to the Colonel Bogey March that soon spread around the school as a child…

Shopping malls along with morgues and salt mines are places i choose not to frequent even without dramas like machete fights and car pursuits.

Breweries on the other hand , love breweries. Patronised by lovely people.
Now there's a new name for 'em ... Just heading down the old Love Brewery

Add Malt Factory. You don't want to have to walk past one every morning on the way to school.

Both my daughters have the flu, and my wife is feeling unwell.

I am scared for my future.

Update on this by the way;

Everyone, including me, has been sick as dogs all week. RAT test confirmed Influenza A.

Shit is ROUGH.

Not unusual, weddings parties anythings "under the clocks" paints a pretty good picrure of melbourne from june to august.
I was thinking of that song on Saturday.

Got the train to Flinders St with my youngest girl to watch the footy. Walked around the station and took her to the clocks before we went to the G because of it.

As if. Its all boutique crap now.
So i went back to warragul the other day, there is one sole fish and chip place left (2 other chicken shops do fish and chips as well.) . But it is under new management and has been gentrified, the old menu with 20 years of price increases above the extraction fans long gone replaced with a fancy sign written menu, the old woodgrain counter with the jars of pickled onions and mussels also long gone. And last but not least the hamburgers dont have real toasted saseme seed buns but replaced with crappy brioche buns like the chain burger places have. 😕😕😕

Like you say ferbs, all botique crap now.

We go to Salt in Dromana, it's pretty good :) A few years ago one of the daughters was working the till and after we'd ordered, she went to give my best little mate the ticket. He refused to take it and she goes "you're the 1st boy to ever refuse my number!" Gold.
