Yeah would expect that to occur not long after Charles takes over.

Because we are an independent nation now and need to grow with our own identity. The commonwealth becomes less relevant every year and generation that passes by.

We werent that far off it happening in the 99 referendum.

Would be interesting to see how it would fare if it went straight to William, rather than Charles.

Spain only turned on their monarchy when the king got busted for Saudi kickbacks and tax fraud. It would take something of a similar level here, or an Andrew-style fall from grace for Charles or his heir, to get the mob who wave Union Jacks at every royal visit here onside. There's still too many of them.
