So with the new sub rule do we play a Cunners and/or Tas even though not confident of either being fit, with the view to being able to sub them out if not able to play out the game?

They have to be actually injured. Not being fit/conditioned enough isn't valid, and the AFL has stomped their feet and said they will penalise premiership points and draft points if anyone bends the rules.

the club does realise had poor its medical team has been and are investing in that space. We tried to do everything on the cheap. /yes that has meant we've managed to get rid of our debt, but we're paying in other ways.

Agreed, if the whole point is to stop blokes being encouraged to go back out there concussed then a general medical sub defeats the purpose

There is nothing in the rule that says they can't play next week. It's irrelevant. AFL basically said anyone who can't continue on the day, can be subbed off. That's it.

That whole concussion thing was rubbish too. The simple rule says, you can't send a concussed player back on. Period. Didn't need a sub to make that happen.

The ridiculous thing is this was brought about because it’s so unfair to lose someone to concussion that we absolutely, definitely, unquestionably need to replace them.

Now, it’s another rule that’s half arsed in its implementation and can be abused without repercussions.

AFL would have to be the only major sporting competition in the world where the rules are changed, not just season to season, but day to day. Extraordinary

So Taylor will definitely miss under concussion protocols, Bonar looked concussed at the end so could miss, and Corr got subbed so he can only play if AFL doctors approve. If at least 3 pf LMac, Tarrant, Cunners, Anderson, Dumont don't get up next week, who the * are we going to chose from?
