So ancestry testing has shown I have a very small percentage of dna relating to Guyana in South America, under 3%. Does this mean I can do art in the style of Guyanas without it being culturally appropriated?
ill allow it ken jeong GIF

Only place in South America where they play Test cricket.
Yeah my son and I were looking up the famous people and most were cricketers with Clive Lloyd being one of them. Seems a great great great grandfather had a relationship with a half cast Guyanan and was shunned after having kids with her 😬

Hosted Jim Jones for an unfortunate time too.

Well at least you didn't buy her a vacuum cleaner.

He might as well have
I’d be eyeballing my hubby if he bought me a “practical” gift

Caesar I don’t know what this gift budget thing is you speak of, but surely you can take the uninspiring gift back or just blow the budget and pop into the jewellers for a bracelet or earrings

The storage thingie could be a random “gift” if non refundable. More of a “remembered your conversations about lack of storage when this popped up in my media today” … (you get the drift) and the added bonus of massive brownie points because she knows you listened

See this is what I thought.

Maybe I know more about vwomen than I realised.

I think practical gifts are fine for xmas as long as the other person has hinted that they would like it. I've suggested to my kids to get me an impact sprinkler but a decent one not a cheap plastic one that i keep breaking. sounds like a shit present but it's what i want and its practical. also request a backpack weed sprayer.

I love an impractical gift.
I don't. Depends what it is of course, but its just another bit of crap I have to find room for in my apartment.

When me and my bf were going out probably the best gift I gave him for his 30th was a SCUBA diving course, he loved that. "Experiences" are good gifts from my pov.

I've put a $100 rice cooker on my Xmas list, you could get one for 10 bucks from Kmart probably but I'm hoping it will be awesome somehow.

I am going to put carpet tiles in my daughter's bedroom (she asked for a very specific colour) but have not decided on underlay.
Many advice sites say no underlay, however the carpet tiles I have do not come with pre-fitted underlay on them like some do.

Do I go the no underlay route (and probably buy a rug to go over the play area), get some cheap 2mm underlay ($35) which may have sticking issues down the track, or a firmer rubber underlay designed for roll-carpet?

The cheap underlay would be throwing money away so either decent underlay or rug although I suspect they say no underlay because it probably affects the flatness of the tiles if you know what I mean.

Fair. It actually looks ok without the underlay, I was more considering the softness so I'm leaning towards the rug which probably saves carpet wear too and allows for the gharish colour to be hidden when little miss changes her mind in a few years anyway
