Prawns, and crayfish require no cooking. Get a nice bit of beef, and roast it before hand for cold beef, get the family to bring a few salads, and Bob's your aunties live in lover.CBF quoting you all, but this is the first time it has been hosted anywhere other than my parents' houses. Normally they just put the whole spread on so I'm going to try to get everyone to bring something but I don't like my chances.
It's normally a pretty elaborate meal so I don't think I'll get away with a chook and bbq.
That sounds easy enough, thanks G you're the bestPrawns, and crayfish require no cooking. Get a nice bit of beef, and roast it before hand for cold beef, get the family to bring a few salads, and Bob's your aunties live in lover.

Would love it, thank you!I've got a really good recipe for gazpacho that I can give you in case it's a hot day, it makes a great starter.

Why did you buy the furniture so early? The store that we ordered our furniture through today called and said they can only hold it until the end of this month or they will start charging us each week longer they hold it. ($35/week)
We can pay a cancellation fee of $135 if we decide to forfeit what we purchased (sofa, dining table and chairs, chair), we're still holding onto the sofa though. So that would equate to $475 (including our deposit), and the remainder left on the sofa.
We don't mind paying the fee (just don't have the room to store everything), but thinking about it, surely instead of charging us a fee, could they give us a credit and we come back when we are ready to purchase again? It's a chain store and I doubt this is an option. But hm.
Why did they take it back?Crisis averted, parents are taking Christmas back. What a waste of energy that was.
We might take the chair we ordered too.Oh that's a bummer.
if they never told you about it then that's a serious pain in the dickWe might take the chair we ordered too.
Going to haggle with them over the cancelation fee because they said they were happy to hold it and never mentioned it being an issue.
Kinda annoyed me to be honest now that I think about it.
When will you need it now? No storage options elsewhere or is it far too much stuff? Get 1 friend to store 1 item each [emoji6]They may have but I don't recall it. We told them we will probably need it for November, but I don't remember them saying anything about charges if it was going to be extra.
Can you ask for a store credit? Surely they would rather receive your business than just a cancellation fee.Feb, probably.
Well we aren't that sold on the dining setting so probably gonna forfeit that, but take the sofa and the chair that goes with it. Gonna haggle with them to bring down the cancellation fee.
I suggested that to the missus but she reckons we can get something somewhere else cheaper. Though the store (Focus on Furniture) do have a table we like. Can you ask for a store credit? Surely they would rather receive your business than just a cancellation fee.
Also have a quick look over the terms and conditions you would have signed.
