I don’t have one but a friend has and she swears by it and one of my bosses at work has one and some of the cakes he makes in it are beautiful

Think Hawk Dork has one
I dont have one

I see it as an expensive gadget that blends and makes soup
People love them but I think they might be part of a thermomix cult

A friend became an agent so she could get one for free I cant remember how many she had to sell to get one for free
but she did and then pulled the plug

Anybody or their missus got a thermomix? Any good? Worth it? Off The Couch MrsEddieBetts FRUMPY peternorth the_interloper
What do you want to do with it ?
It can chop and cook but so can lots of other cheaper things

Soup, sauce,stew ?
I would prefer to do it in pan where I can brown things and add flavour then hit it with a bamix

Aldi has a $300 one a few times a year if you want to try it without getting a mortgage

My blender has a soup button that heats up the contents ,Ive never used it

I got my GF a thermo. Her mum had one, and she swears by them. I bought a second hand model from someone who was upgrading to the latest model (has a screen and all the bells and whistles).

I reckon it's great, but I know they can be pricey brand new. It doesn't do anything that other appliances can't do, but it's handy to have one appliance that can do a lot (and pretty easily). Easy to clean, too.

A girl I used to date had a Thermomix. She didn’t use it very often. When she did it was very fancy and impressive. I remember making a risotto and all you really had to do was shove in the ingredients when it told you to.

I think you need to favour a pretty specific style of cooking in order to get the most out of it. If you don’t like meal prepping or find it restrictive to have to cook everything off a recipe it’s probably not going to be for you.

An old housemate of mine had a thermomix. Like Caesar said above, it was great for specific meals - typically ones that required both heating and mixing/stirring like risotto, soups and caramel, but I got the impression they didn't use it anywhere near as often as you'd want from a $2000 appliance

I'd always assumed it was the decade's breadmaker TBH. Or that digital home brew kit that Harvey Norman was flogging for $$$.

Great idea. Probably a fantastic appliance at scale. But a single family kitchen? Depends on the price I guess

At least they sound easier to clean than juicers

Guys there has been a lot of conjecture in our office today about how you eat your pasta.

Do you guys eat it in a bowl or on a plate?

Majority of people have said bowl.

Depends on the pasta. Lasagne is on a plate. Bolognese can be either.
