i like our odds against the dogs actually. pearce is one of the few defenders with the height to compete with darcy. in person hes clearly bigger than darcy. whos 203cm.
I think the defenders who match up well on naughton is someone like cox.
Yes Pearce is definitely the only one in the backline that can reasonably compete but he was given a bath by Darcy last game. Darcy is class and it is not helping that the umpires are on red alert for any touch against him. Bloody wish that had applied to Sandi.

Darcy is 208 cm which is why he is a freak. Pearce is 201 cm.

Here is the ladder if all top 9 vs bottom 9 games are won by the top sides.

Found it interesting, so thought I would share. Bulldogs need to win their remaining games to get to 15.
Hawks need to win one of their game's vs top 9 sides to get 15.
GWS who are struggling, just need to win vs the bottom 9 sides.

We’ll probably fly home right after the port game – I think that’s what we normally do – but yeah it will be tough. The lions will have had a six day break before us, but will travel to our game and will have had a tough run of playing the pies and then the swans before us, so hopefully they’re a bit bashed up.
Port game starts at 7.40pm, can’t see us flying out at 1am to get home that night.

It’s like a two hour trip. They don’t stay overnight with night games in Melbourne so I dont see why they’d do it with sadelaide

Draper was switched oo to Darcy in the early season game and did pretty well. Managed to spoil well. Darcy kicked a couple on him marking on the lead but none marking close to goal.

To be fair though we had 9th placed Essendon at this time last year where both Treacy and Darcy went down...

We also couldn’t win in the wet or win close games last year

And we were notorious for our slow starts to games in 2024 too. We have definitely addressed a few areas of weaknesses this season and have much better player availability as well. We are not perfect but are a better side in a lot of ways in 2025.
