I've always liked seahorses. They're my favourite animal. They symbolise so many things in so many different cultures. They represent whatever you want them to be - the meaning is interpreted by the audience, not the author. I sort of want a tattoo of a seahorse reminding me that I can be whatever I want to be, but I don't think I'd be taken seriously, considering the feminine connotations associated with seahorses.

Also, the crows got 50,393 to their Friday night home final against Essendon in 2009, a game they were expected to (and did) win easily.

I think the funny part about the whole situation is that Trigg pleaded with Andy D to give Adelaide the friday night timeslot in 2009 because he guaranteed it was the best timeslot for the Crows to sell it out, which they subsequently did. 3 years later and suddenly 'its too late, Friday nights never a good time slot for us, country people cant make it, kids asleep blah blah blah'.

When people don't show up for a game in X timeslot, you always hear about how terrible X timeslot is after the fact. Hindsight and all that. I don't recall anyone complaining about the timeslot before we saw the crowd figure.

Seriously.

Who cannot afford $100 for two weeks of tickets individually? It's not like these finals have jumped out at the supporters, they knew they were coming and would be in at least two at home.

Ridiculous.

I thought we were supposed to be the poor ones?

footyhead I can't wait for you to come down to Adelaide in October.

TAB + Beer for sure.

How long you down for?

Just a couple of nights for a wedding.

Former SA Premiers son getting married to a chick I know.

Good news is early Saturday morning wedding, done and dusted in time for the racing. Caulfield Cup Day!!!

Seriously who lets a chick talk them into gatting married during footy season or spring carnival?

I thought October was the best time, because its neatly between cricket and football?

Of course, if you're just stating an objection to the convenience of a wedding at any time of year, thats cool, you can just say it because I think everyone agrees that they're not.

I don't think I've ever woken up and thought "This is a perfect weekend to go to a wedding".

I am a latitude pedant. I get annoyed when people in Adelaide say " I'm going UP to Sydney". Adelaide is ACROSS from Sydney. Look at an atlas.

I've even heard people in Melbourne say "I'm heading DOWN to Adelaide".

finbarr They're not referring to geography, they're referring to their anticipated enjoyment of the experience.

I've been to heaps of weddings, even a few of my own and there is a good time. It's called January.

At worst it gets you a weekend off pre-season training so the boys are happy and at best it's somewhere warm and they remove the jacket and tie rules.

Win-win.

its astounding how many people on my list actually liked that post to the footy show as well.

If Rocket Rodney Eade gets the top job you are going to have the best username Rod.

Sorry, who the **** wants to wear their best wedding gear when its 35 degrees?

Yeah January is too hot.

I got married April 21st this year so we'd miss cricket season and I wouldn't have taken myself plus 5 of my 6 groomsmen away from my cricket club. The temperature was perfect, but the forecast "possible showers" turned into uninterrupted drizzle from mid ceremony until about 10pm. It was all indoors so we were okay, we just didn't get all the photos we wanted, but they turned out really good anyway.

Plus as every man and his dog said to me on the day, it's supposed to be lucky.

One January wedding that I attended got to 43c - and was only 8 or 9c cooler at night. The venue did not have any air-conditioning. A good night was still had by all.

Best wedding gear?

The heat is part of the magic, young ladies in summery frocks that are see through in the right light......

You being a girl wouldn't understand.....

Thats all very well for young ladies! What about everyone else?

If thats why you're having a wedding in summer, maybe you're having a wedding for the wrong reasons...

Yeah they knew they were coming and they've had three years to save up for them.
