Dallas because of Neon Deon Sanders, Emmett Smith, Troy Aikman etc. And because everyone hates the Cowboys.

When I was younger I followed the Bulls because of Jordan/Pippen (I actually bought Slam City with Scottie Pippen on PC over in the US) but I have a huge soft spot for San Antonio because of the Texas thing and the fact that I saw them win the championship in 2014 so it was good times for me.

Chelsea because I like their style (pretty football when they can, pragmatic football when it's needed) and I despise Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, who has done absolutely nothing as a manager yet is revered like he's Sir Alex Ferguson. And because if I was a billionaire I'd buy a football club too.

We've been over this before but it's
NBA: San Antonio because black and white
NFL*: raiders because similar (also those hats and tee shirts were everywhere when a child)
EPL*: Tottenham because Spurs and at first I thought they were black and white as well
Cricket: Ashes.
BBL: meh

Don't follow either code with anything but a passing interest.

I wonder what became of these guys. Odin. They are kind of the band mostly focussed on in the Penelope Spheeris's 1987 follow up to 1980's The Decline Of Western Civilization, Decline Of Western Civilization Part 2 - The Metal Years. If any of you metal/glam people have never seen it you're missing a classic. It's set almost exclusively around the 80's hair metal scene on LA's Sunset Strip. Classic. But fear not, all three Decline movies are now available in the one blue ray collection.

The guitarist Jeff Duncan has been in Armored Saint since the very late 80's.

It would be like calling a team the "Adelaide Wine" and yes you could spell that with a "h" on occasion.

The Adelaide Whine. Just perfect.

Why is it that when teams in the USA move cities they always keep their nicknames? I mean, Minnesota Lakers sounds good because well..... Minnesota is well known for it's great lakes. Los Angeles on the other hand is not known to have any great lakes.

Los Angeles go from no NFL teams to two in a matter of years.

Speaking of unusual names the Las Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL kick off in 2017/18. Logo looks cool.

I have an absolute shitload of old 80's and 90's Los Angeles Rams t-shirts and crewnecks and stuff. Nearly time to bust 'em back out.

Hypothetical - is there ever a justification for turncoating on a team you support? I've always believed there isn't, but being a Knicks supporter and seeing them persistently mismanage and fail at everything they put their hand to has made me question my beliefs. It's all the owner too, and he's never gonna sell the team, so it's pointless to even hope it'll change. Thoughts?

I'll raise you Phoenix Suns...

Random thoughts are now being scrutinised really closely all of a sudden, I think some butts are still in varying degrees of hurt.

Dallas Cowboys for the same reason Janus listed. Though I was also a fan of The Moose Daryl Johnston.

Houston Rockets cause of Hakeem the dream. It was a toss up between them and Shawn Kemps Supersonics. Rockets won a chip and that sealed it.

Chelsea and Darlington. Chelsea because I loved watching Zola at Parma as a kid on SBS even though I was following my friend in supporting Juve. He went to the premier league so I decided to watch that as well. Of course we won the league the year it went from free to air to pay TV so i saw none of it. Never really gotten back into it.
Darlington because I played them in football manager and Fifa. They were my league 2 team. Unfortunately they went bust but have come back as a conference north team. May be a while till I can play them again in Fifa.

I absolutely lucked out with San Antonio. The kids in my street in the mid 90s were all couple of years older and all collected NBA cards. They all had their favourite player. One had Penny, one had Jordan, one had Kemp. I asked them who I should pick to collect and they told me David Robinson because he'd just won the scoring title, and they all donated me all their Spurs cards.

I got a jersey for Christmas, then 20 odd years later and they're the most respected franchise in sport. What an absolute dream.

But then on the flipside I picked the Dolphins in the NFL because my dad told me to use them when I bought NFL Quarterback Club 98 on N64 because of Marino, then I realised he was the guy from Ace Ventura and that was that. That pick hasn't been as lucrative.
