Also not like these academies are churning out bulk F/S for other clubs. It would be lucky to be one player a year who gets a dual nomination opportunity.

Kalani White played fullback for the Suns' academy again in the U16 National Championship game against Tasmania today. It was a big 10-goal win for the Suns but I can't seem to find whether Kalani played well. Although you'd think the fullback would have gone alright if the opposition was kept to 32 points.

Any idea how tall he is? From memory already taller than his dad
The AFL website currently has Kalani at 197cm. The old man was 195cm so it's entirely possible Kalani won't really grow much from here. I find it interesting that he's being played as a key defender. Perhaps so he can learn the game better before eventually moving into the forward line/ruck? Reports seem to suggest Kalani was the lesser of the two key defenders playing for the Suns academy on Monday (Grady Turner reportedly played better for anyone that's interested) but that can obviously change very quickly at this age level. Kalani already has the height so he probably just needs to focus on his skills and adding some muscle to his slight frame so he doesn't get outbodied when he comes up against genuine power forwards at the U18s level next year.

Hospital handballs. Iffy kicking. Fumbly in traffic. Kynan already looks like a 200 game Melbourne player!

And he has JT's favourite attribute: being undersized. He looks smol compared to the other kids.

Was gonna say pretty rough looking but seems to be in the right spots, has a bit of run.

If we take him will need to do some polishing but could go alright (although can apply the word 'could' to all draftees)

Like that when Brown has the ball going inside 50 he doesnt try and chisel the s**t out of it like most of our dickheads. Pops it up into space and lets the forward run onto it.

Would love to see Kynan Brown at the club, we did a player sponsor with Nathan for several years, he is genuinely one of the nicest footballers I've met.
Agree with this. Met him one day randomly and he was the nicest guy. Played tough though. Was a solid player for us for a number of years.

Mac Andrew's younger brother available this year as a NGA, did his knee early in the tear apparently

Our future father son prospect in Kynan Brown put in a mammoth performance for Oakleigh Chargers in their big win over the Northern Knight in the wildcard play off.

25 disposals, 5 tackles, 4 marks and kicked 5.2 in a BOG display.

Loving the pipes on the kid already..

Seems to have taken the draft combine snub personally – form has been really strong since that announcement

I've watched the majority of Kynan's games this year and he has just gotten better and better. IMO he is very underrated but he won't be for much longer. His handballing and decision making is unbelievable for his age (especially in extraction mode from a contest and linking with other team mates). His kicking has also improved markedly and he has always hit the scoreboard as a midfielder (5 goals 2 yesterday with a couple of snaps on his non preferred thrown in). Fights to the end of the game just like his dad used to and his fitness and ability work relentlessly is what coaches love (ie - Coaches MVP for Vic Metro in the national carnival). Keep your eye on the red and blue for this lad in the years to come. 👍
