I've noticed he gets a large number of handballs and tackles for a "key position tall". Maybe he's not clunking 10 marks and booting big bags every game, but those stats suggests he's doing a lot of the team stuff and setting up chances for other guys.

Boyd has taken just 40 marks for the year (12 contested). He just doesn't have the marking ability to become an elite forward IMO. His future lies in the ruck.

But what about Griffen??? Is on 800+ and let's be honest, done bugger all for two seasons. Was very ordinary last night and was the one who coughed up the handball to matty Boyd which sent JJ off. His man Macrae also kicked the winner.

The Giants have given up Boyd for Griffen and a player headed for Carlton. Not really difficult to see who got rammed in that trade.

We are paying Griffen $500k a year.

Fair call, Hawkins played the whole season that year, but on average Hawkins took more than twice as many marks than Boyd.
