Out of all the number 1 picks though how many have turned out to be legitimate superstars?
Riewoldt
Hodge
Goddard
with a rising Weitering a possible
so not much difference between pick 1, 2 and 3 these days pretty much. Could have got Petracca sure, but then again the Dogs could have gotten Ollie Wines rather then Jackson Macrae in 2011 but not sure they are banging their heads against the wall about that either. Paddy will do ok, but when you come into a club and are being measured up againt and all time great in Nick Riewoldt it is hard for anyone to look good I dare say. Though I sure like the thought of him learning from Roo, it will only do him well in the future and if he can get his tank even half the size of Nicks then he will be a scary prospect in future![]()
You're right. We should rush him off to thailand... oh wait.Any afl player who frequents ******* Cloud nine you should be concerned about. A year off just makes it worse...
For a mod you sure are stupid. We're not paying his salary, not all of it, not part of it. None of it.Cant read?

Hopefully Jack can start headbutting the ball into the crowd to justify his wage.but, he's no Jack Billings....

I wonder when the lols will stop with boyd, my guess is the next time he's gifted some goals over the back in the goal square so doggies supports can gloat about the 'bags' he's kicked.

You do realise Libba passed out almost directly out the front of Cloud Nine don't you?
What about Hogan?I agree with all of that, but I still think that predominately mark and kick forwards are far less important than they used to be and that clubs pay too much for them.
Any tall forward with half a chance of making it gets selected in the first round. Without looking at any stats, I'd be willing to bet that the miss rate when drafting tall forwards in the first round is far higher than for any other position on the ground. Sam Day for example was drafted Pick 3, coming out of a junior career with consistent single figure possession games and stuff all goals.
The way I see it, McCartin, Boyd and Patton, as predominately mark and kick forwards, are less of a sure thing than many others in their draft years and also have a lower ceiling of potential. Thus I think they were overpriced.
There's a genuine confidence about the Dogs, and that was helped by going out and getting Boyd.I think the Dogs decision to go after Boyd was the right move. Wether he will be the gun that they hope we dont yet know, but they were in need of KPF and they went out and got the number 1 draft pick KPF.
The fact that they are still playing good football and Boyd isnt important to their chances of winning is more a sign of their lists strengths and how good they are playing.
I have zero words. As a bulldogs supporter there is no way I'm going to sit here and bag out Carlisle while we have Libba on our list who has a history of misdemeanours. All I'll say is thankfully (and hopefully) he has cleaned up his ways, he is playing ripper football, if that's a sign for things to come with these sorts of situations then St. Kilda will be a scary prospect next year. You're right. We should rush him off to thailand... oh wait.
i just didn't expect a mod to act that way on the main board. do it on your own board or the bay, i feel thats fine but to act like you did on the main board while being a mod is pretty averagefor the record, yes Liberatore was dealt with and has a strike against his name. I find it quite cute that its ok for some to make comments about players from other clubs yet they get upset when someone fires back,
Perhaps you might try taking things a little more lighthearted without getting so wound up over what gets typed on BigFooty. It might save you the headache or two.
agreed, theirs so many other clubs we should be angry at. if anything dogs and saints fans should act the opposite to each other.I have zero words. Seriously though, stop with the shitfest between St Kilda and the Dogs.
Scotty Clayton 'athletic tall' special. See also Tim Walsh, Jesse Wells, Liam Jones, Jarrad Grant, Tom Williams, Andrejs Everitt, etc..Sam Day for example was drafted Pick 3, coming out of a junior career with consistent single figure possession games and stuff all goals.

Sorry I don't live on the internet reading every bit of info so I can trump someone. Well done, you are indeed correct.classy.. resorting to insults now..
my info was taken from the AFL website
In a Twitter Q&A on Wednesday afternoon, Saints CEO Matt Finnis told fans he believed the club would only have to pay part of Carlisle's 2016 salary

Should I resort to your immature level and insult you?
So you use someone's drug problem to have a crack at specific posters do you? Classy.again, it goes back to my point that some are quite happy to sling mud at other clubs/players yet cant handle it when it's reciprocated. My comment was primarily directed at the poster I responded to. I dont particularly care if you agree or disagree, but get some perspective. There are more important things to concern yourself with over a comment
Unless he gets the ball spoon fed to him like he has previously he'll never look good.Least he has the midfield to make him look good, unlike your inept squad.
McCartin might be the next coming of Wayne Carey but with your midfield it won't even matter.

Very true, but he's had that delivery so far in his career and how's he made it all look?Whilst we haven't really found out if he can create his own opportunities, good chances are that he will be spoon fed the ball for the majority of his career. Its not like we don't have the midfield capable of giving plenty of opportunities both in terms of quality and quantity.
