Tom Boyd

Bloody thankful GWS drafted him and not anyone else. Most teams get a top pick once in a lifetime, had any other team picked him up they would be screwed for a long time. GWS had so many picks they could afford to get some not quite right though to be honest not sure Josh Kelly has been much better for them yet but he is showing a lot of promise :)
Jelly?

The same Jelly that Saints fans fap themselves into oblivion over, continuously trying to get a hypothetical trade done in order to get him to Seaford / Moorabbin?

Jelly is not as good as Tom Boyd?

Do you even St Kilda, bro?

A team mate literally got into a fight with him over it lol. It's a disgrace to the game.
Applecross: who put out the second oldest team last week since Sth. Melbourne in 1945. Norf did. The Bulldogs young talent under 23 yo is elite mate and you are jealous because Norf hasn't got any. Still relying on someone who is 38 yo to provide you with a spark.

How many key forwards have the two expansion sides drafted, that have come in and made a substantial impact?

Cameron/McCarthy Pretty small list

Tom Lynch kicked 25 goals in his first three seasons
Dixon 29
Patton 33
Day 24
May 15
Assuming Boyd finishes off the year he's on track for
35-40

This thread is amusing

If I'm honest Boyd probably isn't going to make and it and will be a huge waste of money.

Ummmmmm and??? How does continuing to tak about it change this or effect the team?

Other than little north fans trolling out their glee this thread is shot and shows more about the pathetic people who live on it than anything else.

Last time I checked this was a forum for discussion on a whole range of topics.

Who's living on it? People are discussing his progress and so far there are worrying signs.

I actually think he will make it, probably needs to get thru this year unscathed and have a big pre season

But every club keeps and loses players. Sydney lost Membrey by keeping Goodes, they lost Mumford by getting Franklin. Hawthorn lost a family institution in Kennedy. They lost Suckling. They lost Anderson. If we get Hurley, we may lose players, but our argument is we will keep the players we want to keep - Stringer, Bontempelli, Macrae etc will always be the priority over the 25-45 ranked players on the list. If your argument is that Boyd's contract will impact our ability to re-sign the elite kids, or attract elite level talent to the club, well, it just won't. It may impact the fringe players, but there isn't a club in the land, yours included, that won't burn a fringe player to get a gun in to the club. That's what list management is.
Can you read?

Yes, yes, you have.

You said the Bulldogs wouldn't sign experienced players - and we did sign Suckling. I have little desire to break out the crayons and try and sate your little tiz any further about being called out on it.
Massive holes down back, in the ruck and up fwd and the best you can do is sign up suckling. LMAO

Yeap you're right. No issues at all with attracting players now

The assertion that we won't be able to sign anyone in 2-3 years time is even less correct when this year and next year are the most significant of Boyd's contract. This is because we had the cap room to front-load him (and still room to sign players like Suckling). Literally over a million dollars is going to be opened up in the salary cap toward the back end of Boyd's contract. That doesn't factor in our ability to sign free agents?
Thats 4-5 years away from now

When do they give out the trophy for the youngest team?

Key fwds are supposed to mark the ball. Boyd averages 3.1 a match and managed 1 mark last night, this the biggest criticism of him even by Dogs fans is he cant mark the ball, he runs under it or gets outbodied by guys half his size.

I worry about Boyd watching him play, not just his lack of presence for such a big guy, but his overall effort is concerning, forget the contract and the money, there was a specific instance last night where he literally just let us take the ball away from 20m out, made no effort to keep the ball in, just let a much smaller bloke steal the ball and run away. Compare that to Bruce who atm is struggling to impact the game, he always gives 110% in every ground ball and tackles hard, that's what I'd want to be seeing Boyd do if I was a dogs fan, he's unfortunately a liability currently.

They're talking about how it's what he does off the ball that's impressive on the dogs board.
So essentially, if you take Goals, Marks, Hit outs, tackles and every other basic statistic out of the equation, he's doing pretty well.

How much was the bill for that crab last night. I hoped the doggies board and admin enjoyed it

Tom Boyd?

He's on 7m too is he?

No, but the bulldogs are. Which i think is his point

Really disappointing from you.

If you can't work out the issues, that's probably more of a reflection on you.

nah i'm pretty sure you're a bit hurt and irrational after last nights loss and are swinging at everything

disappointing. maybe try some emotional intelligence courses

No they dont give trophies for youngest side. But Norf supporters quick to bring down young player in his third season where is a big lack of talent in Norfs list in regards to players under 23. It is the worst in the league. Where are their future stars? Dogs have 5/6 players under 23 who are already stars and will play finals year after year. Norf have no one anywhere the class of Bont, Stringer, Macrae, Daniel, Hunter of their ages. So stop talking shit and worry about your own players because unless you nail the draft you are in for years of pain.
