lol rightdo... like a previous poster said, same output as lloyd meek
Not sure what that has to do with my post
On Meek, have always rated him (check my posting history) and I would have targeted him in the off season and released Pittonet

What club would be offering a 6 year 5 millions dollar deal for him?I doubt that works unfortunately, as clubs are already tabling long term deals, inexcess of 6 years, 5 mil
At this stage, i dont think his output and or lack of consistency warrants those type of offers
Only way he stays at Carlton is taking unders, otherwise the trade cost will mirror any offer

Have I misinterpreted your post because that sounds ridiculous to me?
nothing wrong with meek or anyone that is interested in meek or TDK. Issue is no one will offer them like you said 6 years at 5mill

Which club has offered that?Have already stated his output doesn't warrant that type of deal, but he does have an offer on the table inexcess of 6 years
tom boydWhich club has offered that?
I'd be amazed if it were true
I can't remember a player of that age that has showed so little get even close to that
tom boyd
not a perfect analogy obviously, but its not unheard of for clubs to stump up big time for unproven tallshe was the number one pick and also a year or two in to his career, not someone 5 years in and hasn't shown enough to at least have a regular spot in the team
Boyd wasn't the same age as DeKoning, not even close?tom boyd
You're absolutely right - not worth the effort of even making him an offer. Your mob really should be targeting someone else who's more worthwhile and leave Carlton to pick up the pieces.he was the number one pick and also a year or two in to his career, not someone 5 years in and hasn't shown enough to at least have a regular spot in the team

I think a two-year extension works best for both parties at this stage. He hasn't fulfilled his potential yet, so a long-term deal at his current value limits his future earning potential. The only way a 4+ year contract gets signed is if he dominates the first half of the season. I'd say that's unlikely to happen. Two years gives him time to hit his straps and then capitalise with a deal that sees him through his prime years.Im gonna put you and other Blues fans like Kreuuuzeurns and Elmer_Judd and Arr0w on the spot right now.
TDK is out of contract this season, Its his 6th season this year. Would Carlton throw a 2 year extension at him to make him do his 8 years and becomes a free agent?
He has the potential to be a very good key forward. Loves to fly for the big marks and Can take a contested mark. I see him similar to Peter wright.
Carlton have mcckay and curnow, so he can’t play down forward permanently. He was forced to play ruck last season when pittonet got injured and he struggled due to fitness and size.
With Hawkins coming to the end, he would be a perfect fit for the cats.
I'm sorry, but opposition supporters rate TDK a lot higher than Blues supporters do, most don't even see him as our number one ruck.dont know where you going with this, none of us here have any say in who clubs target but one think for sure ALL of us except carlton supporters be shocked someone offer TDK 5 million for 6 years to play footy.
Martin's contract was the one that was heavily front loaded. The fact we went late for Grundy should tell you we shouldn't have a problem affording TDK.I thought they’d just give TDK a contract like Mitch McGovern but Blues fans on here reckon that was heavily front-loaded so can’t see where that moneys going to come from.

I'll be honest the TDK speculation is some of the most bizarre sh*t I've ever seen. Players like Jackon had atleast had a 10 minute patch of brilliance on the biggest stage to warrant the hype around him... TDK is just an inconsistent athlete atm.Kane Cornes astounds me. I know he’s just trying to be a walking headline but it was only a week ago he was blasting Carlton for being limited in cap space with achieving bugger all (a fair criticism), but now is saying he reckons TDK is worth a million a year.
Righto Kane. Paying TDK a mil a year in the hope he out performs the likes of Naughton, Jackson and King brothers depending on his position (which for all his talent, he hasn’t shown anything to say he will streak past them - they’ll get better too) is exactly how you blow your cap.
He’s kicked multiple goals in a game ONCE. Obviously he’s got a lot of talent, but that’s where it ends for the moment.
15th in the B&F down with the likes of Cottrell and Owies.
With some natural improvement he should be able to earn himself a fair contract of 400k a year for 2 years, which would include a 33% bonus of “you’ve got talent, we want to keep you”. Then in 2 years he either earns himself the million dollar contract or it’s realised he’s still behind the elite forward/rucks of the comp and he tops out at 500k.
Carlton should keep him on that when they clear out a Martin/McGov/Williams contract. If Sydney want to offer 800-900k, let them, Carlton have got 8-9 real stars to pay.
