lol yeah Edwards/Power/Josh Smith/Obst are sure to be great sweeteners...

Oh, and Gibson >>> Rawlings, Urquhart, JWS (... what are the chances he'll play ANY games in 2010?), Pratt and Firrito.

Would not even consider trading him.
Well thats why you think Power is vital.
You dont really get it do you? Rawlings has 0 trade potential even less than your mate Power. Gibbo has higher trade value than all those guys you mentioned hence the trading for a future gun midfielder.
Adding those players as sweetners was if anything a show of respect. Unless your trading with Laidley you wont get quality for nothing. Very little point in having 8 half backs spewing into defensive midfielders.

What do people think we could McKinley from West Coast for? If it wasn't too much, I wouldn't mind see he and Warren as HFF targets.

Looks like Rohan might be our man for the #5 pick.

You wouldn't trade Gibbo? I love the bloke, I recon he's fantastic, but honestly, he's no star.

I'd trade him for an early second rounder every day of the week.

And after just watching the highlights of Cunnington, Tapscott and Rohan all are good picks:

Cunnington - Hard at it midfielder, never gives up and loves the tough stuff.....seems to be team orientated too, I watched him in one bit of play put on TWO shepards......he'd be leading that stat at North this year if he was on our list!

Tapscott - Monster kick, great leg on him. Seems to be a half forward that contests hard and has a good football brain. beautiful kick.

Rohan - What more can I say, he's a Ranga! it's about time this ranga got to barrack for one of his own kind, Michael Passmore is so long gone! Seriously he has pace to burn, he might be a bit light but that's only a problem if he get's caught and nobody will catch him.

Can't lose with any of these I think.
Has grown up on a dairy farm if I am not mistaken, where it is wet and cold (more rain in July and August this year than Melbourne has had all year) and they bring 'em up rough and tough in that environment (like Stevo) so should be up to the hard stuff.

well he was BOG again yesterday with another 3 goals

has hit some awesome form lately and i would be happy with cunnington

I wouldn't, no. His performance against Port firms why. He's no star, but neither are 98% of our players. He's a damn good option to take the 4th best forward and rebound for us and even pinch tag in the midfield against Pavlich/Lids etc.

if they are still there in our pick Tapscott,Rohan.

Tapscott has precision kicking of urqs, kicks long, strongly built, good decision making. Also very good kicking technique for goal aswell

Rohan has abit of an X factor- His very quick, tall, needs to bulk up...but i think this kid would be good with warren. That lead up forward who is quick and is good in the air and on the ground.

Dustin Martin also looks the goods. good skills, kicks well on both sides, well built.

considering that Mel get scully, trengrove.. Richmond get morabito and Freo get Lucas

if thier is any better there, fele free to suggest

I'm just guessing here (isn't everybody?) but if Melbourne doesn't pick Butcher, it wouldn't surprise at all to see Richmond let him go as they are masturbating over their quality forwards in Riewoldt/Post/Morton. And then Freo may well pick a WAlien. So there's an outside chance Butcher will still be available at 5.

As much as I'd love to cheer for a bloke named Cunnington, anyone listed as a "utility" is surely a mid-sized, mid-paced flanker. I think we're fairly well stocked up in that type.
Well said :thumbsu:

All hail the the coming of 'THE MEATMAN' :D

You know that bit in flying high 2, where the boss guy exclaims "Striker!" and the dude hits the woman?

Well I can't help imagine that situation when I see Tapscott's name. It could get ugly.

I've seen Tapscott play a bit this year (when he's been available for SANFL) and am genuinely stunned he's being rated this highly.

I loved him from the moment I saw him but he's not struck me as the model that AFL scouts want anymore - he's tough and uncompromising more than athletic.

Would love him at North.

How modest.

Should go to Essendon to play with that other superstar Jetta.
We'd welcome him. Talented players are always welcome at Essendon:thumbsu:

We had pick 5 last year. If you are lucky you'll get a player of similar quality to Hurley. Appears though that this draft is rubbish.

Only for those picking after 5. What pick did you guys get?
