Tough draw for us. How many hammies will go twang with these short breaks?

We are playing the weaker teams off much shorter breaks. So typical.

Elliott and Moore are almost certainties to be rested, and I'd wager Adams and Treloar will be too.

Tough for them to miss games against the duddier teams if they have to front up against the top ones. Maybe rest them for the Perth block on the suspect surface. Time to give Keane and Sier a go.

We travel every week, geel stay in bris? How was this approved...
Was thinking the same. Optus Stadium- Gabba- Adelaide Oval -Gabba.

Haven’t seen other clubs fixtures, but if they are in our boat it’s going to be a season of survival of the fittest.

Just had a look, every other team gets at least one consecutive game in the same location (if you count Gabba & Metricon as the same, which I do given they’re an hour drive apart).

#shafted

This is simply a disgrace.

AFL fixture boss Travis Auld said the AFL had attempted to minimise four-day breaks for teams travelling, although the Cats and Pies face both of those challenges.

“In constructing this block of matches we have focused on ensuring the teams with four-day breaks are, where possible, minimising travel in and around those matches,” he said.

But then dish up this to us

Sunday 2nd in Perth vs Freo
Thursday 6th in Qld vs Swans
Tues 11th in Adelaide vs Crows
Sat 15th in Qld vs Melbourne (who have 2 days more break)

Richmond get injuries and AFL fixtures them to play weak teams subsequent (Swans and North and eke out wins).
We get to play weaker teams with material travel and timing disadvantages.

Really should win all four of those, even if we have to rotate a few to manage loads and injury. Win those four and we have 8 wins and a draw (not counting the WCE game), when you need about 9 wins to make the finals, would be a good position to be in after round 12 with seven rounds to go.

Hopefully in the back half of the season we get a better run with fixtures and travel.

I reckon we will some Debuts over this.

Lynch might get a Game IF Grundy needs a Rest.

Rantall and Bianco are 2 that might get a Game for a Resting Player

Richmond travel once to Adelaide. All other games in QLD. Typical armchair ride once again.

Richmond have been looked after the last few years after winning premierships. When we won in 2010 the following year we had the toughest draw of anyone.

More Proof the Anti-Collingwood stance in the AFL

The way I see it you’ll just get bitter and drive yourself crazy if You focus on how our fixture rods 9-12 compares with others. There will be winners and losers but that can’t be helped. The AFL is trying to do the best that they can as fairly as they can.
No doubt the club will respond as well as they can by strategically using most of the list. We’re lucky indeed that we have a deep list. Now is the chance to put it to the test.
No point in worrying about how other clubs have fared. It is what it is and we can’t change it by whinging and complaining.

The whinging is out of control.

Yes, its not ideal. But the league is not deliberately bending us over, it's all circumstantial.

I'm sure the Club will relish the challenge, and having depth will prove vital.

So what about Richmond (last years premiers) and Geelong (last years minor premiers) basically never leaving the QLD hub from rounds 9 to 12? Does their success last year not factor into the schedule? Seems like we drew the short straw.
