Kelly's manager in Geelong over the weekend , Geelong trying to extend his contract before the season ends but Kelly's management waiting with increased interest from both WA teams .

Anything could happen really but at a guess I think could return home still ...at this stage anyway .

Would not be surprised if his manager starts leaking contract offers through the media. Kelly is Geelong's best mid and on track for AA honours I've heard, so at 26 next year I would assume $800k x 6 years will be on the table?

After yesterday's effort, I don't think Tim Kelly will be wanting to come to the Eagles anymore.

He will when we bundle the Cats out of finals.

You dont win flags in April, they are flying with little to no injury issues.

Lets see how both teams are travelling when it counts.

Would be amazing if he can still attract a top 10 pick after he would've only have gotten us the pick before our compo pick for Lycett last year. Dunno if he'll be worth that playing well below his 2018 form though.
Still our best mid atm.

Evidently we haven't got the salary cap space for Kelly and the 800k tag .
I can see some players moved on at seasons end but probably not our style of trading except for Sinclair which was a fair and reasonable trade both ways in hindsight .

Some of our aging stars may call it quits if we need some cap space ..

Even if we had that sort of cash I’d be looking to scrape an extra 100-200 and hope Cogs takes a hometown/premiership chance discount. Looking more unlikely by the week that that happens now GWS are flying again and we seem to have lost the plot

Yes Kelly would be great but cost money and draft picks , somehow I still feel he might be an Eagle .

Such as?

And please dont say Masten.......he is an intergral cog remember.

Schofield

Just give him a cushy post footy career job as a top up player for the WAFL club and have him keep doing all the media stuff he's doing

6 years is to long for me ... 4 at best and i would prefer 3

He would be on $250k max and Im being generous.

If we really needed to free up cap space then we would look at:

Schofield $200k
Masten $350k
Nelson $180k
Jetta $400k
McInness $150k
Ah chee $200k

That only totals $1.48m.

Draftees are on a min $80k so say $500k for 5 draftees.

Frees up $1m but who knows who is going up and who is back ended.

Melbourne based article in The West .

" West Coast have severe salary cap issues , but Fremantle would pay as much as $800 K a year for a line-breaking , goal kicking midfielder of his calibre . "

We offered him 600k over 5 years last year and we didnt get him so I assume we have that space still. Freo brought in Hogan and Lobb on huge coin so I am not sure they will be in a much better space than us.
