Re the earlier comments about gays, I have to say that I'm a little surprised because I'd assumed that most of you would know far more about footy than I do, since I've only been following it since about 1992. BUT: there is, or at least was once, an unofficial gay group that called themselves the Pink Magpies and I am told that they even had a cheer squad that used to go to games. In case you're wondering, I'm a counsellor and I get told all kinds of things, and this was from a gay client who had been a member. And, just for the record, he was friendly with a lot of other gays who followed other clubs.

Sure. :p :thumbsu:

Congratulations to the Collingwood Football Club for once again giving us supporters the wrong information.

Just received an email, training doesnt commence till Thursday.

Unfortunately the incorrect information is listed on the website.

Training does not commence until Thursday 7 January however we do not
have a confirmed training time as yet.

I'm shocked.:p:p

Can we actually employ someone at the club who knows how to update a website.

Got a response from the club.

Thank you for your email.

The information on the website is incorrectly listed.

The players will return to training on Thursday 7 January with training times yet to be confirmed.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Kind Regards

Collingwood Football Club
So Dawson was right, we return on the 7th.

I thought someone already said that in this thread

Ok, I'm confused, I just received another email;

Our website has now amended training times and dates, the website has
been updated with the following information.

The playing list is currently on a break and will resume training in the
week commencing January 11, 2010.

So when is it, 7th, 11th, 43rd, 2222nd? This is just silly now.:thumbsd:

This thread has given me a chuckle. To all those wondering, I can inform you that there are a shitload of gays who like football, and not just for the sexy men in tight shorts and singlets :p. I can also inform you that Collingwood has quite a large number of gay supporters.

Back on training, the pies should put up when each training session of the summer will be and what time at the start of january, with an asterix saying that times are subject to change with out notice so that people can get organised and go to sessions.

I thought I read in the Hum, Age and AFL sites that we returned around the 7th.

The Blues return today, and wouldn't that be an awesome opening session to attend.

While Adelaide trialled headsets at training a fw years back, Carlton are dispensing compulsory foam domes for their players, with Stix replenishing the supplies when they get low.

"Yeah, we're happy with the boys today. Walker and Houlihan have been working hard on escaping bouncer tackles and some of the younger boys maxxed out after 16 on the burp test. Eddie Betts was another who impressed with his ability to weave through a straight line at low speed. And big Setanta passed the gibber test with flying colours before another kick-arse practice match."

Damn, I organised flights and everything to watch the boys at training today from Darwin and what do I get..........SFA! (JJ)

Any chance Eddy you could buy me a lexus or Emirates flight in compensation so I can get back home......
