Club Legend
I went to training today to see the boys.
There was a lot of touch touch drills (lanework, quick hands, etc) and then a full ground match practice drill which was effectively an intraclub but with the coaches dictating the starting point for the ball.
Some points for discussion.
- Jolly completely outpointed Wood in the ruck. This bloke is a good pick up for us.
- Fraser played in the forwardline and took some good contested marks (against Leigh Brown). Looked pretty good down there.
- Dawes and Reid had a good tussle at CHF / CHB. Reid can read the play extremely well from CHB.
- Ben Sinclair may be tough, and he may be quick, but unless he does a lot of work, will always have problems as a footballer because of his kicking. Not helped by a poor technique.
- Expect Sharrod Wellingham to play as an attacking half back this year. Was also taking most of the kickouts (with Heath Shaw).
- Simon Buckley is an excellent kick of the football, and it about as big as Dawes.
- Rusling did all the touch drills (and looked good) but then did just run throughs and not the match simulation. Same with McCarthy and Presti.
- Nathan Brown is a very good kick of the ball when he decides to place it rather than belt it.

Must have been against Jarryd Blair - oh wait, couldn't have been, he's the same height as Peter Bell.
