Interested in Wellingham playing off a half back flank. He is not afraid to take guys on and has good leg speed. Needs to be able to be accountable for a forward though. Stuff ups down back result in goals.

Like to see him play on Schneider or Milne in the 1st NAB Cup game. Give him a good test.

I just have a feeling Simon Buckley will be a real surprise packet for us this year and play plenty of footy in the seniors.

I have a concerns about Wellers apparent brain freeze leading up to contested situations. He allows his immediate opponents too much room and consequently loses opportunities to bring down his man. In possession he allows opposition players more opportunities to corral him. His best game I believe highlighted his successive tackling attempts on Ablett and subsequent receiving players in our 86 point trouncing in early 2008. Hopes he brings some of that intensity this year. He reminds me Cox at his best without the stoned eyes.

You brought into focus my various thoughts, observations and misgivings about Wellingham - he plays in exactly the way you say he does! Hopefully they'll switch him on to some kind of road to Damascus moment that provides the intesity he requires to be a good player.
