The passage of play in the second when Stanley got a soft high free, then bombed to the square and Menzel got a soft free for shepherding. And the free to Dangerfield after he dropped it like a hot potato. The skewed free kick count is one thing, but the howlers really compounded the frustration.

I really think the AFL have a narrative in front of them for how they want the season to go.. Its not just us, but happens to a lot of teams. There is something unprofessional and plastic about the AFL.

I used to love WWE as a kid, the AFL atm has a real WWE scripted feel to it. Maybe its because i don't follow other sports as much but when you watch them it doesn't have the same scripted/narrated feel to it than AFL games do.
Not sure I buy into the conspiracy theory crap. But yeah, the umpiring is shittythis year and we are more often than not in the poop tainted end of the stick. The inconsistency in one game is what kills it.

The AFL should review the Selwood and Dangerfield games as a snapshot, they got 9 free kicks for tactics of lowering their shoulders and grabbing the ball and trying to bulldoze through tackles and making no effort to dispose unless its a last resort...our whole team only got 17 FFS.

Ump 31 had some real howlers.
Don't think he's number 31, but Stevic always seems to make moronic calls as well.

Good news is Dimma commenting on it has hit the news. Let's see if there is any journous out there that aren't lazy and put the work in to at least ask the question about the umpiring this year. Because I tell you what, I'm a footy fanatic, even more so about RFC and I am a campaigner hair away from throwing it away

It has been shocking this year. The problem with having multiple umpires is that the consistency between them is often terrible.

And the AFL want more umpires on the field, god help us.

The same set of umps should do each game, that way they (or at least they should) will all pay free kicks the same way. There is currently no consistency.

For example Ump A just pings a Butler for incorrect disposal, 20 seconds later down the other end Guthrie is tackled, spun around and throws it, "play on" Ump B says even though it was the same or even worse than the one Ump A called.

No wonder people get the shits with AFL. Run by morons.

Let the ******* boundary umps and goal umps have more power. Both should be able to call decisions

The way the umpires are situated they are constantly on the inside while the play is facing outside. Not only does this mean they can't see clearly but it encourages them to make guesses and assumptions because nobody else is able to call anything!!

The htb rule ,God wept, umpires called frees to Geelong before our players even got tackled ,they were that quick on their nuts while a Richmond tackle took a month for the umpires to make a decision on,one of the great rorts in the umpiring anals.

When is Sepp presenting them the plaque,Frank to hold it up with him?

Ive been saying this all year. The more umps on the ground, the greater the inconsistencies become between each decision. It's a farce. Sure the game moves quick, but we should have less umpires, not more.

Something's are a certainty in th AFL, like the doggies getting a lot of free kicks and th tiges not..
It's hard to change this, a bit like "culture" at a club. But I'm really happy that dimma bought it up in th presser, hopefully th people in charge can start to see how we get screwed over time and again

The AFL will say sorry like they usually do then rinse, repeat.

When we win the flag, our cup will make a ringing sound!

Can Dimma ask for a review at least from the AFL? The two biggest howlers in my opinion were the handball through the goals with no pressure and the tackle on Guthrie. Both of those were black and white wrong.

Still we need to be better at taking our chances and our finishing in front of goal really needs some work. Very frustrating.

The worst for mine were the holding the ball decisions that went their way when they tackled and were getting tackled. In some instances we had zero prior and got pinged consistently, they had prior and it was either play on or a ball up. Geelong also like to throw it alot too, not pinged once.

The umpiring was rubbish yet again and the club should definitely be asking for a sit down with them this week for a please explain.

However, Hardwick shouldn't have open aired it in his press conference. He should have shut up and internalised it with the players in case we have to play these annoying sob's again and used it as motivation. Instead, he's given Scott and Geelong a potential advantage if we play them again. Scott will use the "Richmond are whingers" card with his players. Advantage lost.

**** Stevic. He's a cheat that bloke.

That's the way it works all the way down at a junior level where there's two umpires. Umpiring in partnerships is underrated.

Howlers lol, they knew what they were doing.

Every game I've seen this year that #### of an umpire Stevic has been involved in has been downright disgraceful. Not just Richmond games but others as well.

Players get dropped when they're out of form. How come this bloke hasn't been dropped and given a spell ? Hes been outrageous at times this year, most notably in games involving Richmond.

Absolute Spud of an umpire.

Hopefully the coach mentioning it during the press conference gets a positive response from AFL house rather than the "please explain or we will fine you ".

The free kick count was a symptom of what has been happening all season.

AFL 360 will have the Geelong love fest in full swing tomorrow night and Whateley will comment that all the free kicks were there and Richmond has nothing to complain about.
