ESPN is still going and going to have an interview with Emma shortly.


Just wow, either story would of be amazing but got to be honest a couple tears watching that, what an incredible story.

Good match, it was tighter then the score suggested and really it might of be Leylah being a little more tired and a bit tighter than Emma that was the difference. Both these women have fun games to watch but in completely different ways.

Hope she is ready for the craziness in the UK...

This is just incredible. We just saw a star being born. Her first title and it’s a US Open. Entering as a qualifier And without dropping a set from beginning to end. She showed signs of her talent at Wimbledon, but it was on full display here in New York. Wow.

It's a little hard to read because of that, but to the eye her level was phenomenal. Bencic looked like she was playing against someone ranked well above her and couldn't get a look in.

Fernandez making a mess of all the other seeds and being unable to find a way to get through Raducanu is also a decent sign.

There was nothing below par about the final. That had some amazing tennis.

I hate women's tennis but found that final quite enjoyable.

Great effort by Emma.

The draw definitely worked in her favour, Bencic and Sakkari seemed below their best.

What's with the 6AM start time for the men's final tomorrow? This means it's a daytime final rather than night, which is a bit of an odd change as the US Open final has been at night for as long as I can remember.

Hopefully she goes on to great things. Emma seems very likeable. No BS grunting or gamesmanship. Great game from what we've seen. But it is women's tennis so we can never be certain

She reminds me of Ana Ivanovic. Similar style but with a much better serve.

Only watched the replay of the 1st set. The old killer in watching the replay is that you know the match ends and I could tell it was only going to be 2 sets. sounds like I missed a quality 2nd set.

Crazy story. Wish I had a tenner on her to win the tournament before it started.

Football is king. Generally the men's is after the 1pm games (so 4pm) there were times when CBS had the contract, the match would be delayed because of it. There's no way they would put it up against Sunday night football.

Only the women's final (again when cbs had the contract) was a night time final, that changed about 5 years ago when Super Saturday stopped being a thing

NFL matches prime time at night that’s why.
