Must admit I'm sick and tired of that weak ass Poo boy getting wildcards to everything, especially the majors. He gets them with the majors on a quid pro quo with the French, English and American Tennis Associations.

Why should four countries have such benefits? If Poo was a Kiwi, he would hardly get any wildcards, so why should it make a difference that he's an Aussie and we have a tennis major?

Why should someone ranked 209 get a wildcard against a young up and comer ranked ~120?

The reason he gets wildcards are because he has made the finals at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, not because he's an Aussie. However he couldn't have much credit left after his recent performances.

Did he also make the final at the French did he?

Well it was a beauty!!!

What an upset, James Blake defeated Rafael Nadal 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. I haver seen anyone take it up to Nadal as Blake did, he simply played the match of his life! Well done James Blake, you are a champion!

Again proves how rigged the draw is.

2 - Nadal - OUT
4 - Roddick - OUT
5 - Safin - WITHDREW
6 - Davydenko - OUT

Yet Hewitt (assuming he beats Dent) has to face the Fed in a semi. What's the pont of rankings and seedings if you'd be better off being ranked and seeded lower?

As the 3rd seed, he was due to play Safin the 5th seed, obviously a tougher proposition than playing Davydenko the 6th seed.

Then in the semi, he is due to play Federer the 1st seed, again, obviously a togher proposition than playing Nadal the 2nd seed.

Yet again the tennis community is robbed of seeing the best two players play off in the final. Obviously Federer is easily #1, and he owns Hewitt, but Hewitt has proved himself to be consistently the #2 in the world. But the draw will actually hurt his ranking.

spots are filling fast...

JOIN ME ON THE AGASSI BANDWAGON!

his serve is as potent as it's ever been, he hasn't lost it around the court and the American public are all over him now Roddick's out.

it reeks of fairytale, but 2005 is the Agassi US Open swansong, and it's all falling into place.

GO ANDRE!

One match at a time I'd say. Won't meet him till the final. Who would have thought that Sampras was a chance to win the US Open against Agassi after having been pumped by Hewitt the year before?

Would like to see Blake do well.

Well, I’ve decided to throw away my winnings from the philippoussis loss on a Massu victory over Coria.

$75 on a victory at 4.3
$50 on a 3-1 victory at 8.5
and $20 on a 6-0 first set scoreline at 151. :p

that interviewer was clueless!

was hoping for dent, like his style of play and also hate those totally biased commentators newk and stolle...and theyre ALWAYS EVERY FREAKIN TIME harping on it being such an advantage to serve first in the last set...utter rubbish commentary  <turns the sound down>

Hewitt wins and noone wants to know.

Tall poppy syndrome methinks

The former world No.1 faces unseeded left-hander Jarkko Nieminen on Thursday (Friday morning AEST) for a place in the semi-finals for the fifth time.

Nieminen, ranked 57th in the world, is the first Finnish player ever to make the quarters of a grand slam after ousting Spain's Fernando Verdasco 6-2 7-6 (8-6) 6-3.

"Jarkko is a tough player. He works the ball around the court well. He doesn't give you a lot of cheap points," Hewitt said.

Yes, and i'm sure many other Adelaide supporters like him aswell, which isn't really surprising. Most Fremantle supporters find rove funny!

Anywho, looking forward to the Hewitt-Federer Match. Think Federer's won 15 straight sets against him since Wimbledon last year, with a few donuts sprinkled here and there. Should be a ripsnorter! :p

I've broken even now, and it's probably smartest to walk away... so i've put $100 on Coria at $2.15... The bastard ows me.
