Autopsy versus GWS

I honestly don't think I have been more disappointed in a win in my life. I know we dominated, I know we had some stand outs, but I really just can't shake a disappointed feeling.

I guess I am expecting too much from the tigers, but this was a percentage boosting game. We shambled it.

We got the 4 points in the end, thats what really counts at the moment. Thank god we already had a decent percentage before the game.

Good to see Connors back and showing something. Other than that we really have to wait two weeks until Adelaide for us to know where we are at.

Thank **** for that. Pretty much dominated the game, but 10 goals 2 kept them in it.

We need to remember to make leads and maintain possession of the football when we finally play in the sun again. This 'bomb into 50 and hope that we score' won't cut it when it's not raining (it barely does when it is!)

Still far too many passengers and dumb, sub-par footballers in our side. Still far too mentally fragile.

Is it a positive that we're at a stage where we can actually feel pissed off about a game we won? I used to be happy no matter how poorly we won them!

Positives:
A wins a win, only % out of 8.
Connors - Haters gonna hate but he was good
Maric - Was one bloke who did what he had to do
Nahas - Didn't have a heap of it but played smart wet weather footy, one of very few who did.
Bye next week, because the last two games we have been awful.
As much as he wanted it Dunstall couldn't get a GWS win and we still beat his mob by 10 goals.

Negatives:
Batchelor - One of those forget it and move on games.
Houli - Had a bad month, his softness even more exposed in the wet.
Coversion - 17 more scoring shots(A positive)! FFS to only win by 12..
Hardness - One week out and my heart cries out for Morris.

Would have been nicer to win by another couple of goals but the wet slippery conditions just didn't allow that to happen. Had it been dry we would have thumped them in the second half as it is we did enough to get the win and now have 2 weeks off to recover before the game against the Crows.

Will say one thing though, I'm slightly disappointed with the attitudes of some of our posters. The way some seemed to be almost hoping we lost so that they could rip into the side is embarrassing.

is it just me or does it seem like its Richmond v's the World?

Maybe there is nothing in it and it was how I usually feel when Tony Shaw commentates our game but I felt we were up against it massively today, the weather really stuffed us up and I am certain we are a dry weather footy team, the umpires were frustrating as hell and the way the game is umpired today players are in serious risk of being injured when the ground is wet.

I will say this though Houli should never be picked when its a wet weather game again and I seriously cant wait for Grimes to come back so we can send Batchelor back to the seconds to work on his game because its the 3rd week in a row where his disposal and decision making and even today some of his efforts were substandard.

i think some people are confusing softness with maybe skill with houli. i reckon he is getting a bad rap. im more worried about batch in this area.

Disgusting effort.

Yeah some frees went against us, but we had some for us as well.

The kick and hope into the forward line will just not cut it. We should have beaten them by 10 goals and we win a tad over 10 points.

I hope Rance, Cotchin, Edwards and King are okay.
A bad win today. With this form we won't be able to win against Adelaide.
Good game from Connors, took the most marks for Richmond with 6 and kicked 3 goals.
Trent Cotchin was a trooper with 25 disposals and a goal, the injury should heal up for Adelaide.
Deledio had 31 disposals and a goal but was not at all that effective.
Tuck had 29 disposals, solid game.
Edwards was good early on, could've had more of his opportunities.

Ivan Maric had an average game, had a good game early but faded throughout the rest of the game, could've done better.
Dustin Martin had 3 behinds, not his best season i have to say.
Griffiths not particularly good as he couldn't get into the game and only had 1 possession mid way through the 2nd quarter.
Batchelor and Conca seem to be out of form, Grimes should replace Batchelor against Adelaide.
Fairly quiet game by Riewoldt, but did fairly well on the scoreboard with 3 goals.
Brad Miller... i don't care if he brings Pia to the club I just want us to win!!!
Newman was a disappointment. He's suppose to lead by example, but he can't even get in to the game, just give it up.
