Is Warren Tredrae the most over rated player in footy?
Sure he can take a grab but for a key forward he cant kick unless he is snapping around a corner. In the trial against the Crows Port did better when he went off, Cornes came right into the game and looked a much better player.

If Tredrae isnt who is?

As bad as his kicking can be at time I would still want him at Crows. I don't think he is most overrated. I just think he has not lived up to our expectations just yet, but never the less great player. BTW Gasper is the most over rated player IMHO. No offence meant to Richmond supporters.;)

I'm not saying he is a bad player, just over rated. He isn't the superstar the commentators and media would have you think he is.

Trent Croad would come pretty close IMO. For a guy who was apparently worth a No.1 pick and who there was so much bloody hoo hah about when he was at, and then subsequently flicked by the blow waves, i think this guy is incredibly under-developed in alot of the fundamental skills of football and doesnt have a heap of influence over games of footy when they count.

And yeah, Gasper's massive rating is a mystery.

But Tredrea can play footy. Not sure he is quite that good, but he is certainly a star and one of the competition's better key forwards.

Most players are overated cos the media love to gush over players who are good but then put the tag superstar or champion on them when it doesnt fit. Its sickening really. Best to form your own opinions.

Tredrea is a gun. Period. His kicking for goal is a weakness but it has also improved a lot. Best CHF going round. Easily.

He's a star, but his kicking for goal is horrible. Therefore, he isn't the "superstar" he is cranked up to be.

best CHF ?

Wouldn't mind a Tredrea but would pick Jonathon Brown from the Lions if forced to choose. Takes a great pack mark Kicks a mile and has that Dermott aggro that unsettles opponents just needs to be kept on the track to show how good he really is in my opinion.

It hasn't improved one bit, at least not from set shots. Watching last weekend's match as a Crows supporter, a couple of times early in the match my frustration at the ball being in Port's forward line turned to relief when I saw Tredrea was taking the set shot. Sure enough, two set shots, both about 40m out on no great angle, one behind, one out of bounds on the full.

Yes he is OVER RATED:)

Cornes is the more relaible forward

Tredrea may be over-rated by the Power faithful, but he was the best CHF in the league at the end of season 2002! There is a chance that one of Brown, Riewoldt, or Whitnall could claim that mantle this season, but those four are either so far ahead of the rest or have enormous potential and scope for improvement. I can't see Tredrea improving much, but when you consistently play at that high a level, then you are a very good footballer!!

Cornes on the other hand is as soft as butter as a forward. All he needs is to be manned up by a mobile tall and he goes missing. That said I liked his game in defence in Round 22, but as a forward he wouldn't rate in my top 40.

Yes he was the best CHF in the AFL last year but thats because there were no other CHFs to rival him.Whitnall and J Brown had injury plagued years last year and given that they are fully fit I would rather have those two at CHF rather than Tredrea anyday.Reiwoldt is another player who could play CHF and would be better value than Tredrea.

Chadley can play almost anywhere on the ground!

Thats his value, wouldnt say he is soft at all, he attacks the ball with vigor more often than not!!!

Name 40 forwards in the country who are better than him? I think youd struggle to find 10 - 15!!!

As for Tredrea, very very good player, his kicking has improved markedly over the last few years, had a poor one Saturday night, but ..................... Its February, he has had a few injuries also, hes got some time now to focus on that part of his game once hes fit again, this will benefit The Power and to go with their light use of Primus in the pre season will see these blokes a lot fresher come business end of the season, unlike previous years when thay have looked buggered come September!

If Port had a goalkicking full forward, no one would give a crap about Tredrea's accuracy.

The fact that he's our only genuine tall forward that regularly kicks goals sees that part of his game cop a lot more attention than it probably deserves.

If you reckon he's overrated, feel free, but I know he's the single most integral and important player in the Port Adelaide side and has been for the last four years. He's the only player that plays all game every game, even in preseason, and its because he is that important to the structure of the side.

Regarding Croad: I dont even want to know, really, I dont. If you're going to call Chad 'soft' and then rate Croad ahead of him, christ.. I really cant see the logic behind that.

Chad is NOT soft. Have you seen the way he backs into packs and puts his body on the line? I doubt he would have made AA if he was as soft as you're claiming he is.

How so?? Cornes kicks a lot less goals (his best is 29 from 25 games....Tredrea has kicked more than that each year), takes less marks, and only brought consistancy into his game at the end of last year. Tredrea may not always kick a lot of goals, but he always gets a lot of the football.

Cornes is not a more reliable forward, and is also a fairly average kick on goal.
The only thing Cornes has over Tredrea is versatility.

These are the players that would be better than Cornes.

The fact you rate Stafford (who kicked less goals, had 100 less marks and 220 less possesions than Cornes) a better forward than Cornes makes you look silly. And Mitchell White!!!! Whats he done in the last 6 years? The last time White had a season anywhere near what Cornes did last year was in 1996!
