Completely agree the Swans should get to choose where they play having finished top.
Can’t agree the SCG is perfect. While much better viewing than the Olympic Stadium it’s still an average, dated stadium. Much like a rabbit warren. Should have been brought into the 21st century along with the SFS a few years ago.
Will embrace the old world charm on Saturday week.

Have you been there since all the renovations? It has been upgraded a LOT. It has kept its history too, it's a perfect stadium for both cricket and AFL and whats even better no rubbish drop in wickets for cricket.

For what it's worth, knowing about club operations, it isn't necessarily about the attention on the Dogs W and M game or even about fans accessibility etc.

It's mainly to do with the simple operations - staff members, volunteers, sponsors etc. who typically would be present at both games. Many of the people in and around the club operations would work for both teams and split the work. You're essentially making it impossible for club staffers to both - the little things like merchandise sellers or whatever.

Keep in mind that a home game at the Whitten Oval is still a big deal for the women's team - get decent crowds, be able to sell the club, engage with the community. The Dogs Women's team will probably also win only one or two games this year (we are woeful) and this game is one of them, so there's every chance that one of its few wins or few wins at home and the aftermath is overshadowed by everyone making a mad dash to the MCG.

It's very poor form by the AFL.

Perhaps make a change to AFLW. There's no doubt that both AFL and AFLW would share resources too so makes sense to not have the games on the same night. However, the AFL finals are much bigger fish than an AFLW regular season match.

The week 1 finals schedule is perfect with regard to turnarounds for the second week. This should be the schedule for every week 1 AFL finals. If top seeds win each match, then third and fourth weeks are perfect too. If they don't, well then that's where it ends up a little messy, particularly if 4th upsets 1st, and then 2nd thinks it's entitled to a friday prelim. But that shouldn't matter either. The schedule is determined on the assumption all top seeds win, and the minor premier should be the ultimate beneficiary of any advantages, as long as they win.

Yeah I guess the only reason the argument is there, is because the AFLW fixture was already set in. The AFL scheduled the finals knowing the AFLW was done, as opposed to the other way around.

With that being said - I would much prefer the AFLW game on another day, giving us and Hawthorn the prime time slot, than the AFLW game being on prime time and us playing on a Saturday.
