Bang the fence went as he slammed into it at a hundred miles an hour, but did he stop NO not Johnny Platts, He continued on to pick up the ball and Slam it into Dunstalls Chest,
Goal,

Thats what happend one night at Waverley and I was right near the fence he slammed into, I think it was against the Saints back in 1996,

Does anyone know where he is now, Is he playing footy back in SA ?

had a very unsuccesful year the year after he retired with Hawthorn at centrals, then he quit altogether i believe

Platts has part ownership of the Grange Hotel, beachside Adelaide, still selling cars I think and a few other business interests that keep him busy around town.

I saw him on the train

He was on the same carriage as me heading to the footy when we played the Bulldogs, very brave man. I also saw Mark Williams and Chance Bateman on the train on the way home.

The Rat played one season for the mighty Central Districts but his body was letting him down and he had to give it up.

did he still get his customary armchair ride from the umpires in his last year in s.a ?

Nah, Rat being the kind soul he was, thought he would pass on that honour of official 'armchair boy' to Boris. Nice to see that Boris has since bequeathed that mantle to Longy. :p

He sat in front of me at colonial for the Bulldogs and Hawthorn game. I introduced my son to him and he took some time to talk to him. A very nice guy.
