This thread created by a team who has taken cheating to a new level, and still only managed to run its finances into near insolvency.

Barry Hall and Everitt were also kindly left out.

Saints had frequent new club management until recently so dont throw stones from your glass house.

Freo's success at converting rookie listed players to good AFL players is probably better or as good as any other team.

Freo is top five or six for members rising annually - and this for a team you all call hopeless.

Rising annual profits in the millions at a level most of you are recieving in bailouts from the AFL.

Most importantly of all which should make you all pray to your God every night before you sleep. Without Freo you'd have alot less $$ flowing into the game through crowds and TV rights and without the $$$ most of your clubs would have been merged or folded. In short Freo is your saviour !

But why do they suck so much on the field? You've been given more top 10 draft picks then St Kilda and the Bulldogs (half of which you've traded) over the years and you've had plenty of rising star nominees but you still can't make the eight. Answer the question, what the hell is wrong with your club?

I think that worrying too much about what the mob up the road were doing is what got them mentally into trouble in the first place.

From what i can gather this was one of the first things that Connolly addressed when he was appointed to the Coaching position, and has succeded fairly well in this respect

IMO the club just doesn't seem to have any idea on how to run a football club.
Trading and THEIR draft pick selections are woeful
Talented players are wasted
Mediocre performance are tolerated

I couldn't believe their supporters clapped them off the ground after what was an insipid finals loss against Essendon.

I didn't see much of them this year. When we played Freo at the SCG two guys were suspended (internal discipline) and there were some injuries as well. I do think Freo would benefit from some leadership and a shake up of the culture. I wonder how many of the other players gave those two s*** about not taking recovery and reabilitation seriously?

James Walker 13/22 games becuase of a stress fracture of his leg.
Rodger Hayden 0/22 games recovering from a broken leg.

The middle of the season was when it was worst as everyone seemed to be injured or coming back from injury.
