Clarko safe for next year I'd say. Maybe if we missed finals or he treated a juniors umpire like a plaster wall

I was thinking Clarko would have to punch Vlad in the mouth........The club and the AFL community would probably applaud, but the AFL would deregister him.......so Vlad would still get the final toothless smile.

I don't even want to think about how badly our season would have to go for Lyon to get the sack already.

There would have to be at least one player (probably a Pav or McPharlin) spontaneously combust in the pre-season just to get things rolling. Anything less than that and I think he'll survive.

I think Worsfold is at a stage where he's truly calling the shots at the footy club, surely no chairman/admin at the Eagles could ask him to depart?

Been at the helm since 2002, longer than any other current coach at their club right now. Not to mention him being a premiership coach and premiership captain of two grand finals in our short history. Managed to rebuild the club rapidly after that 2008-2010 slump.

The current state of affairs at the club is essentially all his doing. Moreover, have you seen this man handle journos in press conferences?

It would be like sacking Steve Jobs (if he was still alive) from Apple.

Most interesting IMO is what Melbourne supporters think about this in relation to their coach.
If we go backwards, he may go.

I think he's on a 3 year contract, so I doubt he'll be going anywhere until he's had the chance to stabilise the club and implement his vision.

Coaches who could lose their job with football relate issues.

Voss
Hird (unlikely)
McKenna
Clarkson
Neeld
B. Scott
Hardwick
Worsfold

Those guys are really the only ones in any trouble, and none are under alot of pressure (except Hardwick for mine).

I'd say Hird would be under significantly more pressure than Worsfold, personally. In the end, it was a great effort for Woosher to get the Eagles to a semi final, with the injuries they had. Surely, it's nearly finals or bust for Hird?

At Port Adelaide, just having the job is enough to get you sacked, you're going to get the blame sooner rather than later, no matter what.

I think coaches might hang on to their jobs longer than in the past. One thing that has been painfully obvious with the last few coaching selection processes is that there isn't exactly a huge surplus of coaching talent out there. Who's out there now who would command a senior job through reputation alone? Burns? Ratten? Harvey? Eade? It's slim pickings.

Not making the prelims at least. Although anything less than a premiership or grand final appearance and he could be on shaky ground, you never know

Scott for Geelong has it easy. Even if we finish bottom 4 I think he would hold his job. The only way I see him getting sacked is if he lost the playing groups trust.

Neeld still has next year to grow the team. It's 2014 that Melbourne will/should really start to judge him. Don't forget the players he's turning over. This is his first proper off season with the team/club/list.
