AFL Club
Brisbane Lions
Other Teams
Valleys. Chelsea.
The Lions will continue their re build and delist quite a few at the end of the year IMO.

OOC and delisted- Claye Beams, Ryan Harwood, Jarrad Jansen, Josh Clayton, Matthew Hammelmann, Matt Eagles, Jonathan Freeman*.

Lucky they are not OOC this year- Tom Bell, Rohan Bewick, Jack Frost.

* Unlikely but may have some trade currency.

What has happened to Tom Bell? Looked like being a bloody good player a couple of years ago

Yep, I was for his recruitment, unfortunately Tom looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. If he could throw that body around like Mitch Robinson he would be a scary opponent.

Nick Graham
Smedts
Boekhurst
Jaksch
Palmer
Sumner

Maybe Daisy if he stays it will be on a much reduced contract

Wow, I totally missed that Rhys Palmer was on Carlton's list now!

3 ex-GWS players on that list. Are the Blues starting to realise why GWS was willing to let those guys go in the first place?

maybe but they were the steak knives

Plowman & Marchbank were the targets & will be 10 year players for the club

Lamb has been ok

Phillips was ok last year , struggling this year

Pickett is an X factor , great pace not sure he has much else but early days

hopefully Josh Kelly joins the ex Giants as the club next year !!

Im not sure who from our list will move on. Poppy and Whitecross are always mentioned. Schoenmakers I think is out of contract as well - but he is now getting regular games.

Of the actual stars, I think there is some talk of Gunston and always talk of Breust - but Breust has a long contract so that wont happen.

Other than that, Hodge and Gibbo retire. A few kids will be delisted - as always happens. If we dont see Heatherley play again this year then he will be one of them.

I'm not sure what'll happen with us and exits will most likely not be driven by the club. Not a hugely strong academy year.
Stevie J will retire, I expect that will be mutual and hopefully he takes up a coaching role.
If Kelly goes we'll be in the draft big time with early picks and Hopper may go as well as per the vibe. As usual most will stay.

Anderson, Gibson, Swallow, Thomas, Hansen, Goldstein, Daw, Brad Scott all seem to be leaking salary cap and cash unnecessarily.

The long list of injury prone crowd should get a reprieve as the list clogger/d grade form element is so high.

The fall guy Fordham likely to cop the bullet untried with a few love child spuds kept on the books to throw money down the drain.

Goldstein/Swallow/Daw/Hansen/Thomas all available for trade.

Guess it all depends on how many players the club can trade in and wants to take in the draft.

Senior List OOC potential delisted

Hocking, Stanton will retire.

Jackson Merrett will get delisted (maybe re-rookied), Morgan will also get delisted.

One or two of Howlett and Bird will likely go.

Kelly and Watson may choose to retire or not.

Rookies McKernan and Eades will go. Long might also go.

WCE is a funny one - next month will likely seal the fate of a few.

Josh Hill looks gone, Mark LeCras is pretty much cooked, Tom Lamb surely must be close to the end, Sam Butler likely retires, Eric MacKenzie's contract situation will be make or break - he probably stays.

Redden and Jetta have likely saved their spots with a good run of form recently.

Will be interesting to see what happens at the Dogs but the following are candidates for retirement/delisting I would have thought:
Murphy, M Boyd, Morris, Prudden, Cloke, Honeychurch (getting a game for now) and R Smith (probably another year).

I like Honeychurch, 4th rounder or do we just wait for the Dogs to delist him?

We have 18 players OOC at the end of the year but only six I think are guaranteed to be extended if both club and player agree:
They are Grundy, Goldsack, Cox, Thomas, Wills and Phillips

That leaves the following players scrapping for list spots in 2018:
Ben Crocker
Ben Sinclair
Brayden Sier
Henry Schade (rookie)
Jackson Ramsay
Jarryd Blair gone
Jesse White gone
Josh Smith
Lachlan Keeffe
Liam Mackie (rookie)
Mac Lynch (rookie)
Mitch McCarthy (rookie)

Redman contracted until end of 2019, ain't going anywhere

I just read that young Bob reckons the season AND the pre-season are too long.

Old boy needs a bex and a lie down - STAT!

Why?

His point was:

- The season is too long and could change it to play every team once, therefore shortening the season.

- Preseason is too long. He was saying, players don't come back fatty boombas these days (expect maybe motlop) and need 6 months to get back into shape. Coming back after xmas would be sufficient to prepare for the upcoming season.

It's not hard to comprehend.

I think his form is good enough to warrant going round again, particularly given Morris and Boyd will probably go which will leave our backline light on experience. I get the impression his body is screaming out 'please stop' every game though.
