OK people, let me exxplain to you.
Essendon & Melbourne weren't the only ones who breached the salary cap, we were the only two clubs who didn't own up during the moratorium, which is why we paid the penalties & the other cheats didn't. So you see the cheating didn't put the other teams on top.
Just admit it that the Bombers are the best team going around so farr this year & you're jealous.

I am not jealous of the Bombers and admit they are best team by a mile out there this year. But I will also maintain that at the time if Essendon fell in line with the salary cap they would have had to have gotten rid of some players who are still playing at the club. Thus they were able to keep them for longer until the older players they had retired.
Why would the club not admit their cheating like the other clubs if there was going to be no penalty, instead they got fined big time and lost draft picks. I think the Bombers are smarter than that and thus your argument has little merit.

You are not in possession of the full facts. Carlton, who accused us of cheating in 93 (via that scum Elliott) cheated the cap vastly more then we did but came clean in the Amnesty. How else do you think they managed to fit Williams, Kernahan, Silvani, Bradley, Spalding, Ratten, Brown, Madden (ie: all established stars - not up and comign kids) etc etc into their list???

Unfortunately we had Danny Corcoran in charge who apparently was the one in the know but felt it better to stay silent. He then went onto Melbourne and did same... somehow he's still there!

Freo deserve credit for doing well this year. Even Carlscum deserve credit for getting the most out of their list. But frankly if Essendon can't get respect for having the best season anyone's ever had from morons like you 7 years after this said "cheating" BS then, well, lets just say you may just have a slightly blinkered view of the world...

Its also a little ironic wehn Carlscum fans whinge and cry about it... given that 8 of Carlton's 16 flags (ie: 1/2) came in the period 1970-1995 ie: the era of the chequebook... the very thing the cap is in place to stop.

it would just be nice if the show recognised their were 14 other teams in the comp. Even you should be pissed off with it. It is so biased towards the Eagles its not funny. Barich, Zempilis, Langdon. I mean please. All one eyed biased Eagles dickheads. All three are a joke. Have you seen the intelligent comments that Karl makes on the game. Really makes a worthwhile contribution towards promoting WA football....NOT!! Basils show is 75% Eagles, 25% Freo, 0% the rest. As a Freo supporter you should boycott the show. What a well balanced Footy show. Whether or not you like the Footy Show or The Game, at least they recognise there are 16 teams in the comp. And there footballer of the year comps are open to all 16 teams. Now there's a novel idea. See the light Dockerbabe, and boycott the show...it is shite.

P.S Well done to Freo for beating the Weagles in round 21.

It's 25% Dockers because it's the same story every week. They are either comiserating with the Dockers on a bad loss and hoping they'll put it behind them and bounce back, or celebrating a win and calling it a turning point for the club. It gets a bit boring after a while, even for those interested in the Dockers.

dockerbabe -we'll wait for the investigation results before dishing out blame, don't you think? Maybe it was premeditated by Drum, or perhaps it's yet another embarrassing incident highlighting the Docker's lack of professionalism. I doubt you'd see players making those sort of comments (true or not) at other clubs. Were you at the game? And who is 'pretty boy'? Certainly not BC, he wasn't anywhere near the start of the incident. Or do you mean Gardy or Phil? First time either of them would have been referred to as a pretty boy!

It must feel good to all you freo fans to finish 12th this year above the eagles. But please tell what year are the dorkers going to finish in the eight. How long have the dorkers been in the competition (6yrs) and never been in the eight. The eagles were playing in their first final in 1990 and they have been in the competition since 1987. So when your club can boast about something like that maybe I will listen to you. The only thing you can boast about is one year you finished above the eagles. Nothing spectacular with that.

To Dockerbabe before you go shooting your mouth of who started the brawling in the last game. Who got the biggest suspension and what team is under investigation. I certainly didn't hear the eagles name mention. CW shouldn't said anything whether he was joking or not.

Ok, lets get a few facts out here.
Firstly as anyone would know Clive is a very quiet person who rarely gives interviews and when he did agree to Channel 7's request they asked him to put in a bit of a stirring commment which they said would be used jsut prior to the game to rpomote the derby.
Channel 7 went against their word and used the interview that night which made the Dockers come off in a poor light.
Yes, we have not made the 8 yet and we are still trying. The Tigers have only made it once in 17 years so it shows it is not always easy. We did not have a state team to pick from and due to the SCUM's success we had nowhere near the same sort of extra draft picks to help the team out. Granted, we were given one over the Jeff White saga and yes we have made some stupid trades.
But you also have to realise at the time, the SCUM were coming a premiership and the Dockers did have to be competitive early in order to attract members and sponsors.
As nice as it would have been to have players such as Farmer he was only 16 and would not have helped us straight away. Granted, we picked up rubbish for him and that is the fault of Phil Smart (recruiting manager) and Neesham who wanted to look after his claremont buddies.
As for the Derby, the boys were fired up but the simple fact of the matter is that Gardiner decided to come out and match Kostya Tzuyu but ended up looking like a clown. The SCUM have had preferential treatment this year and every other year.
Take a look at the game against Richmond early this year. Koops copped two weeks for charging yet Jakovich does exactly the same against Sinclair and cops nothing.
Kickett deserved the time he got but how Read got off with two weeks when he started it with cheap shots to Fletcher and co. was a disgrace.
Still the SCUM can live on their past glories and hope that they can get back up there later.
Our time will come and we will enjoy it without the benefits of the chardonnay set (or are you going to jump ship when we stay ahead of you).
We are moving forward and one thing is for sure, we will win a flag before the SCUM even get close again.

FACT: Fremantle are being investigated for premeditated brawling.
FACT: Michael Gardiner was provoked into hitting Pavlich. It was the most hilarious thing I have seen in a long time. Because Pavlich is such a small little weakling, none of his punches could connect because Michael was holding him at arms length and so he couldn't get at Gardie. Otherwise he would be out on a two week suspension as well.
FACT: Phil Read did not start the fight. Adrian Fletcher and co, had Phil on the ground and were laying into him, he was using every possible measure he knew how to protect himself and get up off the ground. I commend him for that.
FACT: Dodd hit Phil first, Phil unfortunately retaliated. Ditto the Dale Kickett wrestling incident.
FACT: Ben Cousins was only involved in the mellee's as he was trying to calm everyone down and get the players out of there. It was Heath Black who started on Ben and slinging him around, and Bed did not in anyway retaliate.
FACT: Heath Black and the Dorkers are in no way shape or form sorry about the incident that occurred, as spoken on Basil's Footy Show. It was premeditated alright. Whether Clive meant what he said or not, it got the Dockers blood pumping. And the fact remains he shouldn't have said it if he didn't mean it. He was not the only one to say something, Stephen Koops had a lot to say about knocking the Eagles' heads off.
FACT: Who gives a shit if the Dorkers finished above us? Six years you have been in the competition and you haven't been able to even get close to making the eight. After six years, we had made the GF and won it!
FACT: We didn't have a state to choose from when we joined the AFL either. We had to lure players away from other clubs to return home. Its just that no-one was interested in returning to the Dorkers, because they obviously knew even then that they were a shit-house club that is a disgrace to WA.
FACT: Gerard Neesham had a lot more success with his "Claremont Buddies" then Drum has had with big names like Modra, Fletcher, Hasleby, Brown, Pavelich, Cook etc...

So..there are the facts. Don't anyone dare say that I haven't gotten my facts straight! You are the one who has them messed up you little bitch! You are prolly one of these girly supporters who doesn't even know anything about the game and yet has a lot to say. You buggar off and learn your FACTS and don't go around butting in where your opinion is not wanted! The title of the post is Whcih Team Do You Love To Hate. I don't why I am even bothering to reply to the utter garbage written by yourself but once again you like many SCUM supporters have your heads up in the clouds.
Before any game there will be a bit of pushing and shoving and that does not mean the other player has to start throwing some of the worst jabs seen in the history of footy.
Dockers supporters have said that whilst Kcikett's actions can't be condoned you can't fault his passion which seemed to be sorely lacking in your side, with the excpetion of Jakovich.
When the Eagles did come into the competition they had the entire WAFL competition to draw from and teams did little scouting in those days so what you could recruit from other teams was a bonus.
EVen the most knowledgable of Eagles fans (and yes, there are some out there) will tell you that they had a full strength WAFL competition to draw players from.
Not to mention the recruiting concessions that you were given in the early 90's.
But you are as only as good as your last season and your last result. We did beat you fair and square, we did finish on top of you on the ladder and the same will happen again next year.
IF you have to resort to things such as silly bitch to others, then your lack of argument and sense tends to show through.
Live on premiership glories from 92 to 94, and yes I would love it if our team had one but you have to move on.
As for Neesham, he would win games against higher teams on the ladder but anyone with any footy knowledge would tell you that you would never win finals footy playing that style.
Finals footy is tough and hard and you don't have time to finesse with the ball.

For a start I don't live on past glories. I don't relish the fact that we won in 92 and 94 because I realise that if a week is a long time in football, what is 6-8 years? I realise that we haven't done well these past years, and not making the finals this year was the best thing to happen to us. Maybe we can get rid of the bandwagon supporters and the idiots who can only keep living on our past glories. I admit that many of our fans are like that, but don't stereotype because the vast majority are passionate supporters as I am sure you have seen.
We've made the eight 10 years in a row and it is our time to take a break. Essendon wasn't that crash hot after their 93 victory and look where they are now. Missing out on the finals has made a lot of our players wake up to themselves and realise that they have to make the victories happen, we aren't going to scrape into the finals every year by doing medeocre work like we have done over the past few years.
I can admit that I was wrong in calling you a silly bitch, :0 I realised my mistake in letting you get under my skin and get away from real footy talk almost immediately after posting my reply. For that I apologise. For being a passionate Eagles supporter and a proud one-eyed one at that, i do not apologise. I hate the Dockers with a fierce passion and I will not change my opinion on what happened.
BTW-Karl doesn't have much to do with the Eagles any more, he is just a retired player who remains a supporter. I doubt Gardi could have seen Basil's Footy Show as he would have been at the ground for pre-match prep. I doubt that his attack would have been pre-meditated, and he paid the price for his lack of conviction.
If Dale Kickett's outbursts throughout the game is what you call passion, then I will stick with what we have got. In no way would I be proud to support him.
KJ admittedly has had problems getting the passion out of his players, esp. post Mick who could do it so well. After missing the finals this year, we will be out for all we can get next year, you mark my words.

It would have been nice to finish on top of the dockers but seriously who cares that they finished in front of us but the real truth of the season was that the dockers and the eagles really sucked this year.

Now i think the eagles will be back and i think the dockers will get better so stop bickering.
