Which team needs a new logo?

Richmond and Port Adelaide have the worst logos in the AFL in my mind.
Well, logos like Carlton's are pretty bad too but they're never going to change their logo idea, maybe the font in which they already have i guess. Then there are the horrible logos of Adelaide and Brisbane which they won't change for ages either, those really are horrid though.

I believe the nickname "saints" was intended to be ironic.

However this thread is about the logo not the nickname.

I don't get why St Kilda and Richmond are on the list you couldn't come up with better designs for shield/crest type logos.

Other clubs should look at them and Collingwoods (although Collingwood should drop the Australian Flag as it just doesn't look right any more since they had to move it) as examples of what you should have.

Carlton should bring back their old crest but slightly cleaned up.

Essendon, Hawthorn are horrible modern monstrosities, Adelaide and Brisbanes latest ones are shocking, all Bisbane needed to do was to clean up the the Fitzroy lion not dump it.

Fremantles latest one isn't that great either.

Ports logo is hopeless, a club with a long history like port needs a traditional shield/crest design.

Other shit logos include Adelaide and Port (worst), Footscray, Geelong, North and, yes, Essendon. Our logo is definitely looking tired and early nineties.

Melbournes by far the best, would like something like that, but don't really wanna copy

Not really sure how you rate Richmond's worse than the Crows, Lions or Cats.

Lions logo is ****ing terrible. Crazy, cos the Fitzroy one they could have has that pure class, real nobility. I kind of associate the paddle pop lion now with Vossy's reign

Richmond have one of the best logos IMO, brisbane's is embarrising, they need to bring back the previous lion.

Meh it's too busy. I'm puzzled as to why the Southern Cross is there. And the writing in the background means there's just too much going on.

I really don't understand all the hate i've read for the Richmond logo. It's a fantastic logo, probably the best in the league. It has a classic, traditional look about it. Maybe if they were going to revert to the leaping tiger logo that would be ok but their current one is brilliant. Anyways as for the worst, I voted for West Coast who IMHO have never had a good logo. Other poor logos: Adelaide, Brisbane, Essendon, the new Fremantle logo, Geelong (should have stuck with the shield, looked great) and of course the Gold Coast clip art logo. Port's is tricky because there isn't much you can do with a name like 'Power'.
Best: Richmond, Collingwood, new Melbourne logo and Carltond (although the old crest was better).

As a graphic designer - this is beautiful. I say that not in the sense of scaleability, function and branding, but because it cuts the heart of the essence of MFC. The club is simply irreplaceable due to it's distinguished heritage. Great play by Melbourne to hark backwards while everyone's racing towards modernisation. Unfortunately, we live in a disposable culture, the new MFC logo however is not a disposable statement.

This is true. I can't really rate Melbourne's logo because its not simple and striking enough, its too complicated.

I won't say Richmond's is the best because its not up there, but people slamming it as the worst I can't understand. Its striking, simplistic and pretty well symbolises what we want it to.

Port Adelaide's is disgusting, and Brisbane should be really ashamed of what they've done to their traditional lion which was, as has been said, all class.

I don't get all the hate for Richmond's logo. It's not the best, but not the worst either. The roaring Tiger is magnificent, although the rest of it could probably do with a modern touch.

I think Essendon need a fresh, new, modern & simplistic logo.

A new logo would be perfect now to fit in with our new coaches, gameplan and era, it would symbolise that the Bombers are heading in a new and better direction.

Love our current logo, I think we started the trend for these "old fashioned" classy logos coming back. I think the Saints and Carlton also are good logos.
