Who would be the most unique footballer in the leave? A toss up Between Buddy, and Ablett for me. Don't think we will ever see anyone like either of them ever again.
Matthew Richardson was like Franklin. Played wing. Plus he was an elite contested mark. Kicked a lazy 800 goals. More than Fev and Sticks.

Does anyone else here realise that "unique" is an absolute word, and hence it is wrong to call someone "more unique" or "very unique"?

If someone is unique then they are one of a kind. Even if out of the 7 billion people on this planet there are only two of a certain type, they are not unique.

Good point. Chris Scott is fatter than Brad (and coached a flag).

Kepler Bradley.

Has the most unique Football playing style. The way he runs... the way he kicks... even his name is unique!

Brennan or LRT is the closest comparison you could ever make to him and that is a stretch.

You will never see a young kid coming through the draft with bio "Plays like: Kepler Bradley"

Josh Thurgood. Now he was unique.

In terms of athleticism it's Naitnaui. In terms of versatility it's Goodes.

Note: the word "unique" sucks. I do not think either of the players above are incomparable, rather the most different from others.

I don't think Ablett is all that unique. Someone like Kevin Bartlett played much the same way.
Whether Ablett is unique is debatable, but having seen both GAJ and Bartlett, there is no comparison between the two, other than both have / had little hair. Ablett does things Bartlett could only watch others do in awe.

Anyone who can ruck and then gather his own tap, then run and handball to himself over the head of an oncoming opposition player, then have a bounce and have a shot at goal...not many around.
Who did / does that?

This is easy.

Never has a player had such powerful traits as Gary Ablett Jr.
Strong in all areas and moves like he is indigenous.

I have a memory of him so surreal I'm not sure if I just imagined it.

A few years back when he was playing for Geelong, I think it was against North. Anytime he got the ball the North players would all back off, wave their arms & try to shoo him over the boundary.
