Beau McCreery hasn't kicked on, and our supporters love to glorify what he does well and ignore what he doesn't do well. His composure is awful and when he goes for his speedy, daring runs he either fumbles the ball or burns the kick more often than not. Can pressure and his tackles hurt, but if Harrison and Richards are as good as they've looked, Beau is no longer best 23.
You're gunna hate me for this. I like his grunt. I can see him doing Adam Saad role off half back if he knuckles down. He isn't that far off it now

Skills aren't good enough to play any role other than his current one IMO. Finding the pill is important for a role like that and Beau is too focused on other players than actually getting the ball himself.

To be fair, he may have found another role recently as he's been getting CBAs playing more defensive mid. Was no good against the Dogs but put a fair clamp on Davies-Uniacke when moved on to him late. It will help his case, but I don't think he's rounded enough to stay in our side while other small forwards continue to grow

Jake Stringer’s form has dropped away big time this season. Isn’t having the impact at centre stoppages he’s had previously

It's hard to say for us, because neither our fans nor the media really rate many of our players at the moment - that's what happens when you're 1-6.

Jordan Dawson is good, but not setting the world on fire, Isaak Rankine is exciting but no one expects him to be perfect, and Taylor Walker had a phenomenal 2023 but I think we're pretty realistic that the end has to come fairly soon.

Some of us rate Darcy Fogarty, but others point out that he's not producing enough for his age - criticism with which I agree. Some really like Rory Laird but he's criticised for low hurt factor - criticism with which I agree.
Laird is the correct answer. He's always been a stat padder with very little hurt factor. Opposition teams would happily let him rack up 30+ disposals as they know he would make minimal impact.

Agree on Lewis
Great hands, an ok kick but too injury prone and inconsistent. He's mid twenties so not young anymore either

CJ too.Harry O Brien v2.

Flashy, can run but turns it over a lot and is suspect defensively

Ginnivan: Not fast, ok kick. Most of his contributions are from ducking. He is smart though and makes the most of his positives

Darcy Moore for me.

Isaac Quaynor this year
Schultz and yeah Mcreery both seem overrated.

Prior to this year I’d have said Dow. While I think he can make a decent AFL career, people thought the was the panacea to all our issues during our bad run last year.

People get seduced by his burst speed from a stoppage and think he’s the next coming of Dangerfield.

On our list now, bit hard to pick Marchy, as I think injuries have prevented us ever being able to see the best of him.

I will go for Cuningham, still the same tease when he plays that he was 4-5 years ago, only gets 10-12 touches and does some nice things but not enough, and offers nothing defensively.

He’s effectively been replaced by a superior version of himself in Elijah Hollands.

I would also say Mitch Lewis. When he is on song he is great. With his injury history, it makes him too inconsistent Last year we were struggling without him in the side, as we had no real options to replace him with. This year, we have both Chol and Dear, who are not only creating opportunities for our forwards and kicking goals themselves, but are also applying pressure, when they don’t have the ball. Which is a stark contrast to last year, where we were more reliant on having to mark the ball, in order goals, to a lack of pressure from our big forwards.
