They were not into Peatling, and just like Luko picked Port over us due to Rozee, Cummings picked us due to Tex.

Port were never into Peatling in any real way. Every club asks the question, but he wasn't any priority for them.

Port should be, they made a prelim and we finished 15th.

This was a fun walk down memory lane and goes to show the old adage of "12 months is a long time in football" is as true as it ever was.

Theres been quite the turnaround.
As I said in the earlier pages, the Crows forward lines is better than Ports, and its by a long way.
Georgie is the only dominant forward Port has at this point and are in dire need of another couple of strong key forwards and a couple of quality small forwards.
The Crows have Thilthorpe, Fog, Tex, Keays, Rankine, Rachele and even ANB all kicking bunches of goals.

Midfield is now alot closer with Dawson, Soligo, Peatling, Berry and Co having a mix of elite and workman. Butters is still a standout for Port, but they moved Rozee into the backlines and JHF into the forward lines. Bergman has been inept since he re-signed at Port so with those changes the Crows midfield is better.

The backline is now an even wider gap than I thought. Worrell, Michalanney, Keane, Hinge, Butts and Murray are a far better and talented group than Ports.

While ROB has had a better year than Ports rucks, I think its much of a muchness between them.

Then throw in a talent like Curtin who is leagues ahead of any Ports recents draftees and its a wash.

Most Crows supporters can't listen to him as feel dumber for the experience.

We have had to bring in a new coaching director to do most of the functions of the senior coach, including strategy & managing the assistants.

This is basically an admission he is not up to it.... but they re-signed him before they needed to.

In fairness to our forward line, we’ve been missing both our 2nd and 3rd key forwards for essentially the whole season. Both would have been good for 30+ goals and matching the outputs of Walker and Fogarty. Rioli has missed a chunk and was matching the goals output of Keays and then SPP the second half the season who is the equivalent output up forward as ANB.

Take out Fogarty and Walker for the season, Keays and ANB for majority of the second half the season and suddenly Adelaide’s forward line isn’t out performing us to the level it appears.

Adelaide obviously have the better overall forwards than our list (as they should after years of high picks) but in terms of the output we’ve been missing all year, the gap wouldn’t be as large as it appears in terms of output.

Our defence is trash though and I’m certainly jealous of the backline you guys have assembled.

Comparing games played of the top 10 goal scorers for each side, Crows have 7 that have played every game and 2 that have only missed 1 game.

Compared to us, 1 has played every game, 3 only missed 1 and the majority have missed a good chunk of games (excluding Marshall as well).
