Fremantles has been just as poor as West Coasts since Fremantle has been in the AFL.

Some Freo duds: Doug Headland, Ryan Smith, Dean Grainger, Greg Madigan, Ben Edwards, Brad Rowe, Jay Burton, Daniel Parker, Matt Clucas, Daniel Schell, Garth Taylor, Andrew Shipp, Ashley Prescott, Adam Butler

The drafting has certainly improved in recent history...but then when you continually get priority draft picks its hard to stuff up.

West Coast duds: Craig Smoker, Luke Trew, Jonson Clifton, Paul Whitelaw, Trent Cummings, Todd Holmes, David Antonowicz, Brandon Hill, Michael OBrien, Scott Bennett, Laurie Belloti, Joel Duckworth

But again, in recent history this has improved with some fine players like Glass, Gaspar, Hunter, Kerr, Judd being drafted

As for my choices of worst coach, Jeff Geischen is a standout. He could only get 9 wins out of a side in 1999 that had Bowden, Campbell, Daffy (when he was half-decent), Holland, D Kellaway, Knights, Ottens and Rogers play every game. And as I've said before, the amount of cliches he could deliver in one stint on 'Talking Footy' was incredible.

Bernie Quinlan and Buckenara would be up there, as they were both clearly out of their depth at struggling clubs. Quinlan's coaching style didn't win too many fans apparently, but he at least should've been able to see out the season.

I wouldn't put Tim Watson as one of the worst coaches. After all, the Saints would take his 28% winning record now. And besides, he did manage to coach St. Kilda to a convincing win over Essendon. Is that going to happen this millenium?

To turn this post from a biased post to a unbiased it would help if you put a date next to the names as to when they were drafted and where they were taken.

I can safely say in the last 4 drafts we havent put a step wrong.

Pavlich,Longmuir,Haselby,Brown,McPhee,Medhurst,Polak,Woods,Browne (Quality midfielder bout to make a apperance).

I would say we have safely learnt from the mistakes of the past.
McPhee in the late 30's
Woods in the late 50's
Medhurst 52

Hard to argue with much of that.

Wouldn't most sides have a lot of "duds" by that criteria though - over a 5 or 6 year period like that? Not everyone will make it in AFL.

How was my post biased?? I looked at all the players in the last 7 or 8 years that didnt make it at freo or the eagles.
As ive said before...any post that isnt having an orgasm over how good fremantle are you think is overly negative and wrong.

Every club has put a foot wrong in the last 4 drafts.....everyone has drafted some duds in the last 4 drafts...Freo are no exception: Daniel Schell, Garth Taylor, Andrew Schipp, Adam Butler. The others are too earley to tell if they will make it or not eg. Scott Thornton)
