Granted we only went 17 years no flag. How long has it been for your guys now?
We are a deadset rabble, no arguments there. Credit to our fans that have stuck by them for so long and haven’t disappeared like other clubs supporters have. We are garbage and keep breaking membership numbers, imagine if we manage to ever get half decent

It's "Only" 3 because of the constant reference to 1000+ games of experience lost

They will be losses, how much of ones are still to be decided

The annoying thing is how trash O'Meara and Mitchell apparently were to oppo fans

But now that they are gone, they are so important apparently
Fair enough but I guess one issue is value for money.

Hard to understand how Hawks will pay out the minimum salary cap this year.

Amon, Wingard and Sicily must be on a fortune.

Seriously, who are the Hawks paying?

Well if things go as they normally do Brayshaw and Serong will request trades and Freo will be right back in this discussion wont they.

Sorry I’ve reached my weekly limit of arguing with sooky bewildered WC fans not dealing with their new football reality at all well

More like you and other Freo fans who spend far too much energy trolling Eagles fans in threads such as these cant deal with some home truths about your own club and its history.

How is pointing out facts sooking btw?

Someone points out Freo forward line is one of the worst if not the worst in the comp and you sook about it, pack up your leggo and go home. If you are willing to dish out criticisms on other clubs don't sook when someone puts up facts about your club and you dont like them.

Eagles list needs a heap of work, not disputing that, but things are never as good or as bad as it seems. For any club.

Nope, not surprisingly you still don’t get it.

Hawthorn supporter haven’t said that and are completely open to being near the bottom, but once again you’ll just make out that Hawk fans are saying the opposite, so whatever.
Yet you continue to defend your list when a mere suggestion that you guys will be near the bottom pops up

which one is it? you guys will be shit or you guys will not be bottom 4?

The new normal is Freo building a quality team (one of the youngest still). & West Coast being the worse list in the comp. Get use to it.

Freo have a single 2nd rounder in 2023. Traded out two years 1sts for Jackson.

Desperately need a decent tall forward, may need to trade another F1st to land one and if that happened unless a good player is traded out it will mean 3 years not holding or using a 1st round pick.

So they wont be adding top end draftees for a while where the Eagles will be. Better get use it it.

We traded in a high 1st rounder for those picks who is 21. We took 2 x 1st rounders the previous draft (including a key forward) & the 1st pick of the 2nd round. We also have a 2nd rounder tied to North for 2023 draft so likely to be low. We’ll be fine in terms of draft picks.

We’re not as desperate for a key forward as everybody thinks. We’ve got two developing ones in Treacy / Amiss who have shown something, especially Amiss coming off a big injury. Tabs is solid when fit & the Jackson / Darcy combo could offer a lot. Lobb managing to kick 35 goals last year, put anybody up there with our mids getting older & improving again and they will get more opportunities to kick goals.

What quality have you got coming through?
King is a star but most teams have a gun forward who is young and just as talented as King.
Please enlighten us with your gun forwards who are 23 years old or younger, only three I can think of are King, King and Ugle Hagan. The test are in their prime and should be kicking 50 goals plus for there team or they're not good key forwards.
St Kilda's best players are already in the middle of their careers.
Gresham, Windhager, Battle, NWM, Mitchito, King, Paton, Clarke, Coffield, Sharman and Higgins are all 25 years and younger. Can you name 10 players from Geelong that are best 22 that are 25 and younger.
Carlton have a couple of players in a similar position. Collingwood likewise.
Love how you can't name a single best 22 under 23 for either Carlton or Collingwood, your argument is really strong.
St Kilda is such as devastating tragic club. They let their fans down time and time again. If they manage to win a flag in the next couple years, great, I seriously doubt they make top four in the coming years though.
We all can't be given an advantage each year to keep us in the top 8.

maybe worry about your clubs future, more than half your team are 30+ with very little talent coming through. Maybe Holmes and De Koening will be great but the rest look average.

Do the math

Did the math a couple of posts ago mate.

The answer is 2

Freo lose two players say like Serong and Brayshaw like you did with Cerra and Freo's list doesnt look so good does it?

Old man Fyfe hangs up the boots and moves to full time modelling. Walter retires.

Things can change pretty quickly.

Nothing is as good or as bad as it seems in football. Thats the point.

The reality will be short lived, about as short as the time it took us to make our first Granny.
How long did it take Freo to get their first c.......ohhh, still waiting huh.?

Probably Essendon and St Kilda.
Middling teams that were going nowhere.
Will be interesting to see what their new coaches do with the lists they have.

North and West Coast both won two games last year and yet they have better lists than us?

Never change bigfooty.

I did not say gun forwards under 23, but many teams have a young gun forward. McKay, Naughton, Fogarty, Allen, Larkey, Lewis, Marshall, B.King, Hipwood and there are others.

I like how you make it 50 goals as the prerequisite in becoming a gun forward. King did this last year and is now averaging 1.8 goals per game throughout his career. But believe you me, the likes of Allen, Fogarty, Ugle-Hagan will get there too. Just will take more time is all.

Gresham is good. As too Clarke but the others aren't anything much at this stage.
You asked me about Geelong's younger players, I think De Koning (not De Koening) is quickly becoming the equal of Max King. In fact, De koning is starting to position himself in the same way Darcy Moore did at Collingwood.
Max Holmes would be the equal of any of your younger players. Jack Henry, Brad Close and Tyson Stengle are on the path to becoming elite. Stengle is probably there already after a fantastic 2022. We also added Ollie Henry to the list. A player who could really make significant inroads in 2023.

So I reiterate, your list needs to get a move on and quickly. Some of your best players are quickly approaching 30 years of age and they have barely played finals let alone steering the ship to the holy grail.

North have a good batch of youngsters.
Whether they progress is another story.
I also really like West Coasts recent drafting.
Building for longer term success.
