Worst player to play in a grand final??

I like Cam but his position is "Angry man". He wouldn't make it as a forward in any other side, he is just there to bring the ball to ground so Johnno, Chapman and others can kick the vast majority of Geelong's score. He is a glorified brick wall.

Good luck to him but he is a seriously average player made to look passable by an awesome midfield.

One of the worst takes I have read on a player, particularly that late in his career.

He was a very good footballer who was highly skilled on both sides. Forget the persona, he could play.

Spiro only played in 1 gf, '89, he was far from Geelong's worst.

Varcoe and Stokes are pretty poor footballers and wouldn't get a touch in a mid table side.

Varcoe played a big part in Geelong winning in '09. One of the very few who had run in his legs deep into the game.

Belts Ken McGregor before the opening bounce, Adelaide kick a goal before the start of the game. Plays Grand Final, his second game of the year. Delisted afterwards. Career over.

Soldo worth a nomination?

Fletcher Roberts from us certainly deserves a shout although he was pretty great in the Prelim and handy in the GF. Just never went on to do anything after winning his flag.

Soldo is better than plenty of 1st rucks who have won premierships.

Bairstow probably won two reverse Norms by being on Matera and then Kemp in '92 and '94, but to be honest after the 2006 horrible home loss to that year's Flying High Eagles, Geelong has dealt that club some fearful whippings since. Geelong was 4-14 head to head after the 1994 GF, we were the Eagle's bunnies for sure.

Since then Geelong lead 29-27-1, but also have an actual percentage for and against of 118.7% over West Coast, having scored 871 more points than them overall. And we've even won our last two finals against them en route to 4 Flags since '06. I consider revenge pretty much served over them by now!

Geelong did have players like Russell Merriman, Steve Handley, Leigh Tudor and Grant Tanner playing in those 90's GF's. But i'm sure there are worse players around than those.

Apart from Hawthorn, everyone was the Eagles' bunnies 91-94. We copped thier best on Grand Final day. The 92 one was the worst. Five goals up FFS. In 94 we were brilliant in that finals series but the Eagles would have flogged anyone on that day. We had several on one leg in that game. We were good, but the teams that got us on Grand Final day 89-95 were better.

Disagree on Keating. He only had to play a qtr in the gf in 97. Which was on the 2nd qtr when both Rehn and Cook had a rest. Keating actually won his Position in the 2nd qtr. although was rucking against a non ruck in serakowski
