Regardless this whole thing reeks to high heaven. In 8 weeks you have people begging for a lock down. (The novelty of 2 weeks Netflix will wear thin after a while)

Having worked from home for a while and pulled kids out of school I can see the problem. I would push back with poverty and despair will kill more in the long run so we, as a society, need to be vigilant about how long this runs.

During WWII London was bombed every night bar one for 11 weeks. Bomb shelter every night, key facilities bombed, fear of being blown up. And here you are complaining about staying home and watching pr0n/movies!

Well then why dont we do this everywhere for the flu every year, the paper i linked stated that the way we are treating the corona virus may actually save more lives from the flu than from Corona.

The scenario and narrative has changed from untold deaths to now flattening a curve to save hospitals, which if anyone has seen are totally overrun during the height of the flu season, so i agree, but the country does not IMO need to close down and millions lose jobs.

Flu generally doesn’t overwhelm the hospital system (swine flu did in 09 but that was large numbers coming to my ED because some Nuffie was working in the food court of the nearby shopping centre while sick)

I dont disagree with this - a lockdown is a massive move, and should not be started lightly or ended lightly. it should be politics free, and decisions about it made our best and brightest working together - and some poli's
