Yaz is just getting better and better, wouldn't swap him for anyone taken in the 07 draft or anyone else, Every time he gets the ball something magic happens. I love the fact he is know getting some swagger into his game, we have really developed him nicely,

Lol @ Essendon fans mocking us for them taking Hurley before Yarran, they would kill for a player of Yaz's foot skills at their club

amazing how backwards Rich seems to have gone. Some of his decision making and skill errors this season have been weird. Body seems fine but between the ears something seems up. Is he homesick, clashing with Vossy I don't know but after all the promise of his rookie season the Bears must be perplexed by him. Basketcase of a club

Watts' talent (more potential and talent than Henderson due to his athleticism) against Essendon was as plain as day, but for mine, Yarran is something special...Don't tell that to your average punter and BF poster who think it's better to be tall than great...WC should have passed on Judd and picked Polak to get a prospective KPP who can play at both ends of the ground.

If you're going to do that TG, for god's sake do it properly:

Yarran > (to the power of 50) Watts. :)

To be fair to Watts, he's just starting to look quite good on the ground.
His character will be his largest test. Has the ability by the truckload

>^50 Watts?

It's too Monday to do Physics...b4f, this is your field!

His confidence is down, but teams have also figured out that if you don't give him space he's a "good ordinary player" rather than a gun.

Yarran is special. Plain and simple.

As for Watts, I've liked what I've seen this year. Give him 2 years and he'll be doing what he was picked to do.

Showing more than Kennedy did at the same age.

I'd take Watts over Hurley any day of the week, I fail to see why Hurley has such big wraps on him, aside from his disgraceful off field conduct, he's having a rather mediocre season, Crameri has been far more effective for Essendon

Gee, looking back at the '08 draft there were A LOT of good players plucked that year.

Yarran stands right up near the top with any of them, though. Maybe a slower starter than some others, but his ceiling is tremendously high.

Keep up the good work, Yazz!

Gotta drool at Yarran having the balls to take on an opponent on the wing and chip it on his wrong foot to make Betts run on to the ball...Had the audacity to tuck the ball to his chest and slide past the Power player like a greased up Groundskeeper Willy...Calmly kicked over the head of a Port player who did a double take..Walker went bang with a 60 metre drop punt off three steps.

you just have to love him getting around the opposition and streaming downfield at full pelt. Not once, not twice but regularly. Thats the kind of play that wins matches.
Yeah, after all the planning etc that goes into working out how to shut down opposition forwards it must break the coaches heart and out so much pressure on them when a half back kicks goals. When Harry O did it last year against us I knew we were ****ed, Yarran will destroy coaches plans on a regular basis.

Yeah that's right, its some weapon to have these days. :thumbsu:

Another thing with Yaz is that he is a very well built young bloke who will end up an absolute ball of muscle in a few years time and he will be busting tackles and running through packs as well. Coupled with his pace and agility, he will be damn near unstoppable.

What do you prefer to see:

Chris Yarran running down the wing seemingly jogging at about 60% whilst some bozo is behind him grimacing running at absolute maximum and still getting nowhere near him. Yarran then proceeding to spot up a target like he's not even trying.

Or

Mitch Robinson attacking the footy like he's trying to dismantle a brick wall.

It's a tough one.

Is Rich a victim of playing for a struggling midfield and still learning to break a tag?

Murphy's second year was poor due to his interrupted pre-season and the fact he was the opposition's number one target after Stevens broke his neck.

I'd say yes.

Judd was a god-send for Murph's development.

No it's not.
Mitch smashes through the pack at half back, leaving 3 Pies dazed and confused, gets the ball out to Yaz who does his runny/bouncy thing, hits Sexy Texy on the lead who duly goes back and slots another goal. Everyone's happy. :thumbsu:
