Stange coaches votes... especially beacsue it looks like both coaches saw the game very similar.
I wouldnt have had Bont or English anywhere near the votes and would have had Macrae right up there
The one downside of Libba's attack on the footy is that he very rarely holds space. So if Treloar is in a slightly better position to win the ball, Libba will also be trying to win the ball. If the opposition wins it, they've got a spare to break open the stoppage.
Libba's incredible skill is...
I disagree somewhat. The games where we make deliberate changes to our strategy and structures based on the opposition, are generally those games we do the best in.
Contrary to this board's consensus opinion, I like the tactics and game against Geelong. We just weren't good enough. But...
Macrae is also a very creative kick inside 50. Last year or the year before i think he was one of the best players in the comp for having kicks into 50 retained
This should be a template for how Naughton should play when its not working for him deep.
Last year most of those close losses were us being overrun late. This was the opposite (almost). More pleasing than seeing a 5 goal lead whittled away and knowing the inevitable outcome
Conversely Josh Schache did a number on Aliir in the 2021 PF. Aliir is not as good as Stewart but the blueprint of using a lesser player than Naughton is there
Bramble looked light years better in the official practice match vs the first scratch match. Hopefully it was understanding his role and now he's locked in
There is no world that Darcy gets the same offers as Naughton and Jamarra. He's played 7 games thus far and hasnt shown any ability to stay on the park. Naughton has a demonstrated track record and Jamarra has tracked exactly as you'd hope for a pick 1 key forward
I think you are 100% right and they still stuffed it up. Vegas was the weekend just gone. NRL will be playing in NSW and QLD this weekend (and Melbourne).
So in an attempt to try to capture attention in NSW and QLD (which doesnt work because the NRL is playing games in those markets on the...
Thats a bogus argument. Contact sport by its nature is "unsafe". If the AFL and contact sport was looked at with the same lens as mining or construction, it would cease to exist tomorrow. Taking the field carries some (a lot?) of inherent risk of injury.
Do you really think Collingwood coahes are going to see a 4 second piece of play from JOD, completely out of context and come up with a new strategy on how to beat us?
Early in 2022 (i think) the mids basically operated in pairs. One of the pair would be at each centre bounce but there was often a different mix. The pairs were Bont / Macrae, Libba / Dunkley and Treloar / Smith. i think Treloar might have gotten injured early in the year and we went away from...
It happens everywhere. The Dogs just drafted FS Jordan Croft, but his twin brother was lost to footy and plays volleyball. Nothing to do with being a northern or traditional football state
