With the 91st pick in the 2017 Draft the Kansas City Chiefs select Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson University

Yes, the Chiefs have Kelce. But outside of him, they have not much.

This pick will allow for them to run two TE sets, and is also a capable blocker. He is also huge, at 6'5 and 258.

Cowboys select Josh Jones - S - N.C. State

hqdefault.jpg

In addition to losing a couple of corners, the Cowboys allowed Barry Church to leave for Jacksonville in free agency, meaning that there is a bit of a void there at the safety position.

To be honest, I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on Jones earlier in the draft, so I'm fairly pleased to see him still available here in the third round.

Jones loves nothing more than to make an impact in defence. Although he never won all-conference honours during his career at N.C. State, he was recognised with an "honourable mention" for the 109 tackles (including four for loss), three picks and eight passes defensed he recorded in 2016.

At 6'1", 220lb, with a 4.41 second 40 yard dash at the combine, Jones looks the part of a modern day safety. He has the speed to range across the field and has experience at both safety spots for the Wolfpack. He's extremely aggressive and loves to lay some bone-jarring tackles.

However, canny offences can turn Jones' aggression against him, as he often flies in looking to lay the wood only to find that he's missed his target. He will need to learn to balance his aggressive instincts and to balance his focus on the QB with his focus on the receivers.

In some ways he reminds me a little bit of LaRon Landry with his aggression and appetite for the big hit, but he does flash the instincts to be a success at the position. The Cowboys should feel pretty good about landing Jones here in the third round.

The Packers select DeMarcus Walker - DE/OLB - Florida State

os-fsu-defensive-end-demarcus-walker-sack-master-20151222

With Peppers and Jones both leaving in FA the Packers double dip with pass rushers. McInley is a speed rusher off the edge, while Walker is a massive dude at 280lbs who can win with pure power or use a lethal swim move. I see Walker more as the 'elephant' rusher that Peppers and Jones were.

Has insane production and with the Packers rarely lining up in a tradition 3-4 preferring to use more nickel Walker can line-up inside and rush the passer or stop the run. Is a high quality locker room guy and was the leader of the Florida State defence.

With the 94th Pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Nathan Peterman, QB, Pitt Panthers.

611906234.jpg

With Big Ben Roethlisburger turning 35 recently and Landry Jones lacking consistency, the Steelers must look at bringing in a young promising QB to compete with Jones for the back up role whilst Big Ben ponders his future.

Whilst Peterman won't be able to throw the long ball like other QB's available, what he can do well is hit those little bubble screens with accuracy and check it down to Bell when needed. He has the pieces around him (OL, WR, RB) to help him be great, now he just has to come in, learn the playbook, develop and be ready in case Ben goes down with injury again.

With the 95th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Atlanta Falcons select Danny Isidora, OG, Miami.

danny-isidora-1000-getty-2015.jpg

Having foolishly passed on Dan Feeney at #31 the Falcons now select a pure RG in the 3rd round.

With 34 year old Chris Chester likely to retire and sophomore Wes Schweitzer still an unkown, the RG position is in need of an upgrade as it was the weakest part of the line last season.

With his thick frame, natural power and surprising mobility, Isidora offers a tantalizing skill-set for NFL teams looking for help inside. The fact that his entire college career was spent at right guard offers some plug and play potential but raises questions about his readiness to play other roles.

villanova-athletics-tanoh-kpassagnon.jpg

With the 96th pick The New England Patriots select:

Tanoh Kpassagnon. - DE - Villanova .

With Long and Sheard moving on The Pats picked up Ealy and Guy as replacements but they still need some more DL depth , therefore I selected Tanoh.

Three words to describe Kpassagnon:

Big , Raw , Smart.

At 6 ' 7 " and 289 he has a great frame to add on a few more pound and for his size is pretty athletic.
40 dash 4.83, 3 cones 7.46 and broad jump 128 inches.

He has great lateral movement and in time he will bulk up more as even though he is 289 he has a good frame to add some more size.
He is going to require some work , no doubt, as he needs to improve his ability to get to the edge and get to the pass rush, he has flashed occasional glimpses of this ability, however he needs to do it a lot more.

He has a high ceiling and players with his length, size and athleticism are sought after.
I am banking on his off field smarts helping him to take on the necessary learning thats going to be required to improve. He has a double major in accounting /finance and is an Intern at Price Watterhouse Coopers. So heres hoping he can master the XXXXX and OOOOO.

Tyler Orlosky - C - WVU

6_4691227.jpg

With the poor play and then trading off Jeremy Zuttah, the Ravens have a hole in the middle of the OL and Orlosky is probably the 3rd best Centre in this draft with value in the 3rd round.

Multiple scouting reports describe him as a warrior - which is exemplified in both his play style where he seems to relish finishing off blocks and burying his opposition and the fact that he hasn't missed a game in 3 years. Has a great mentality, was the unquestioned leader of the OL and was Team Captain. He plays with great strength and good technique. Rarely gets beaten on blocks - PFF has record just 1 sack against him in his 3 years as starting Centre for WVU and only 3 QB hurries in his final year on campus. The major knock on him is that he only has average athleticism and doesn't really perform well in space or down the field.

Denver select

50819_h.jpg

Curtis Samuels - ? - Buckeyes

This process has made me realise there is some receiving talent in this draft, just not the top end A graders like a Julio or AJ Green.

There's going to be some real value for teams on the second day.

Denver could use another receiver and I see samuels used as a sort of Harvin/Tavon Austin hybrid (but actually good and not a ****wit)

With the 102nd pick in the 2017 Big Footy NFL Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select, Alex Anzalone, LB, Florida.

image_handler.aspx

The Seahawks LB depth is quite worrying despite the signing of Wilhoite in free agency. I think Anzalone is a quality pick up here as he has the ability to play all 3 positions. The problem is his ability to stay healthy but at the end of the 3rd round with another pick coming up I felt it was worth taking a punt.

Woodson is on the clock.

With pick #103, the New Orleans Saints select Blair Brown of Ohio (Bobcats) - ILB

Mid-season006-900x600.jpg

Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 238lbs
Arms: 31.24"
40 yard dash: 4.65
20yd Cone Shuffle: 4:18
Vert Jump: 37"

This pick may seem a reach in the eyes of the unfamiliar armchair mock draft expert who doesn't know any better.. but like many undersized who have either been overlooked or undervalued, there is a SAM MILLS calibre in every draft. A crowd favourite. Sure Blair Brown isn't going to check off the "physical traits" boxes for teams who always prioritize height-length-speed at linebacker, but he gets a big check mark in the "find ball, get ball" box. He's instinctive and has the play strength and leverage to fight through blocks and make his way into tackling position. He had a HUGE senior year with 128 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks and one forced fumble to prove his motor is real.

Further more.. highly touted RB Alvin Kamara was stifled in his tracks by Blair Brown
http://texanswire.usatoday.com/2017/03/06/combine-watch-blair-brown-great-sleeper-fit-at-lb/

Downhill linebacker always looking to make plays in the opponent's living room. Very instinctive. Key reader who trusts his eyes and is quick to pull the trigger and rocket into gaps if he sees an opening. Generally plays ahead of blocks. Possesses an urgent, physical mindset. Extremely efficient tackle finisher who very rarely lets one get away. Quick to find football on play action and at the mesh point of zone reads. Plays with little hesitation. Sniffs out screens almost immediately. Scrapes with square pads and a controlled, balanced slide. Has good play strength and attacks iso-blocks with leverage. Good short-area burst to close out running backs. Can drop into space and shows the ability to drag running backs on swing routes.

With Pick 105 the Pittsburgh Steelers select John Johnson, Safety from Boston College.

John_Johnson_23.jpg

Johnson has experience at both corner and safety and should push for a starting spot at some stage in the 2017 season.

The Steelers need quality depth in the defensive backfield and Johnson should help with that.

With the 106th pick in the 2017 Big Footy NFL Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select, Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M.

DEL150919_Nevada_vs_TX_AM_060.jpg

Safety depth is a must as the Seahawks struggled massively with deep balls and balls through the middle when Earl Thomas or Kam Chancellor were missing in 2016. Evans may need to put on some size before being in serious contention for playing time. At the same time, there is nobody better to learn from than Thomas and Chancellor.

Jets select Jeremy Sprinkle - TE - Arkansas

USATSI_8942298-650x342.jpg

One of the glaring issues for the Jets offence is the lack of a respectable tight end. For the last two seasons, the Jets' tight ends have caught the least amount of passes, putting the Jets at the bottom of the 32 teams for tight end usage.

The Jets signed Austin Sefarian-Jenkins part of the way through the last season after the Bucs released him due to off-field problems, but with Chan Gailey moving on and a new offensive coordinator in the building, there's no attachment on the part of the Jets to ASJ.

Sprinkle displayed consistent capacity to catch passes for the Razorbacks, having snapped up 33 catches for 380 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games started for Arkansas in his senior year.

Sprinkle is a willing and capable blocker, meaning that he can be a three-down player for the Jets if his development continues in an acceptable trajectory. At 6'5" with 34 1/2" arms, Sprinkle has the arm length and hand size of an NFL offensive tackle. He could do with some more muscles and he'll need to be coached up on his route running technique in order to create some separation for himself in passing situations.

On the tape, Sprinkle doesn't display any one particular elite ability but he's good in most areas and that should translate to a reliable starter for the Jets in the future, after he deals with a shoplifting charge that kept him out of the Belk Bowl in which he was going to represent the Razorbacks.

With pick #109, San Fran select...

Eddie Jackson | S | Alabama

13493554-mmmain.jpg

Yeah he fills a need, and at 6-0 / 201 lbs he is just the sort of light framed in between prospect that the Niners love.

Plus, (at least it seems to be a plus when the Niners draft), he has had both a broken leg and that mandatory pre-requisite for a Niner prospect, an ACL!!

Brasher is just gonna LOOOOOVE this pick...

With pick 110 The Jacksonville Jaguars select Howard Wilson - CB - Houston.

The Jaguars add a ballhawk at Cornerback to be paired with Jalen Ramsay.

Howard Wilson is an extremely aggressive defender who gets his hands on a lot of footballs. His combination of a quick short-area burst and ability to read the quarterback is why he’s able to make such an impact.

He features excellent balance in his backpedal which helps him easily click and close on the football. Wilson has solid top-end speed, but isn’t someone who will jump out as a burner. His quickness comes in his short-area burst which is equally as important for a cornerback.

With pick 111, the Chicago Bears select D'Onta Foreman, RB, Texas

9520724-ncaa-football-notre-dame-texas-1-850x560.jpg

With the break-out of Jordan Howard last year and a new QB under centre, the Bears stand to run the ball a hell of a lot in the near future and need a reliable counter to Howard to provide a different element to the offense.

Foreman was 2nd in the nation for rushing yards in college last season using an interesting blend of speed and agility for a man his size (6'0. 233lbs). He is a willing blocker in pass protection but will need to work on his technique to be frequently used at NFL level, and will also need to work on his ball security issues. Given he blew up his Pro Day after not being allowed to run at the Combine due to a foot complaint, there is every chance Foreman is selected well before this selection in the real thing.

Pick 114- Vince Biegel, linebacker, Wisconsin.

TTCUda9D.jpg

I saw Biegel live a couple of times during the spring at Camp Randall and he is something else. Sure, he is undersized and he is not strong enough to be a starting linebacker in the NFL for a few seasons at least- but he is an incredibly high character guy, the most incredible leader and plays at a frantic tempo. He has a cracking personality and I can see him being a locker-room leading special teams player that will lift the intensity and performance of those around him. I see him as a Jarred Allen-lite player, but if he can develop into half of what Allen did, he will have a very nice career. I took him earlier than he is rated, but, he outperformed Watt at times over the past couple of years (was rated higher than TJ going into their senior seasons) and absolutely love to take Wisconsin players in mock drafts.

The Panthers select Samaje Perine - RB - Oklahoma

Panthers get a big back to develop behind Jonathan Stewart.

Samaje Perine may have been out-rushed this season by fellow 2017 prospect, Joe Mixon, but Perine has been a key cog in the Sooners offense since his freshman year. In three seasons, Perine accounted for over 4100 yards rushing at six yards a carry and a whopping 49 touchdowns on the ground. While his numbers dipped after an incredible freshman season due to Joe Mixon taking caries away, Perine never rushed for less than 1000 yards or 12 touchdowns.

What stands out about Perine initially is his build. He is a low to the ground back and has the consistency of a brick. Oklahoma lists him at 5-10, 235, but I would guess he is no more than 5-9 with a bit more weight on him. His build is notable because it makes him so hard to tackle. He has natural leverage as runner and really incredible balance.
