Are we asking about the availability of Nickleback now? What pick would we have to give up? Or are they are free agent?

That really is rock bottom.

The ruck situation seems to be incurable.

How the hell did we wind up like this? Why weren't we able to see the signs that we missed?

Id love to see Sydney grab some decent players but my head says it will be pretty much like every year since Buddy (and failed Daniher/papley trade/swap/picks), no one will want to come to sydney and we will end up with a couple of B graders in the ryan clarke / Aaron francis mould

I can’t understand why some are so adamant we shouldn’t get him if he’s affordable. I’d have no hesitation paying him 500-600K on a three year deal.

I'm not dead against it. But I think it is potentially a bit of fools gold.

It would be good to have a decent explanation as to why Adelaide have been treating him as a fringe player for 4 years. It's not like he just fell out of favour this year. Maybe he has had some injuries, but they are hardly overflowing with good midfielders.

If we can't do anything to improve the ruck, which I think is the real reason we perennially struggle in clearances, then he might be worth a shot. We would want to have plenty of salary cap space to be offering 1.5mil over 3 years though.

I posed the question on the Adelaide board re. Crouch. According to one poster, he always had a tendency to look to go back or sideways and they already had too many of this type of midfielder in Sloane and Laird. The Crows fan feels that with the addition of Dawson (aargh!) this has helped in the second coming of Crouch and he is more direct. Sounds like he could be handy for us in winning the contest then distributing to our runners.

Anyway, just hope we see the plodding, one dimensional, backward / sideways looking one this weekend.......

So let me get this straight.

Folks on here are saying no to players like Crouch.

Folks on here think we should trade plodders like florent and Hayward.

Folks on here are also complaining about us having no depth and our twos being poor..

Got it
This would be a good set of points if it's the same people making these arguments.

A single person on this board would trade Florent, unless there's others in hiding.

I say no to Crouch, and no to trading either of those guys.

Our 2s have been poor because we got hit by injuries to talls (plus young mids like Roberts, Sheldrick and Mitchell early), and when we had a good set of mids and some structure in the 2s, we won a few. But then we have been hit with injuries and suspension to JMac, Campbell, Sheldrick (again), taking 3 mids out of that reserves team which subsequently got belted in the middle against a top side.

No, there are Some who have that opinion and some who strongly disagree. Surely you're not expecting the Board to be actually agree on something:tearsofjoy:
