If he is after premierships, not sure he should be choosing Geelong when most of their A graders will retire this year.

If you'd watched Geelong this season, you'd know that Enright would be the only veteran likely in the top 8 of our B&F.

Selwood, Blicavs, Hawkins, Taylor and Motlop are our most valuable 5. Duncan was our most inform player before he got injured. Selwood at age 26 is our oldest full time midfielder (alongside Duncan, Caddy and Guthrie). Thurlow and Gregson are among the favourites for the Rising Star.

Seriously this perception that Geelong is full of veterans is so far from the truth.

It's easy to make room.. Hodge/Mitchel/Burgoyne veteran payments boom

Mythical. Hodge and Mitchell are already veterans so you won't gain anything from them. Burgoyne won't be a veteran for another four years at Hawthorn. And you only gain less than $150k per veteran.

It is what the smart teams do and has a massive impact on the who has won the last half a dozen premierships . Geelong , Sydney and Hawthorn have all used the loophole well . You could say Sydney were triple dipping .

Yeah they can pay him like 200k of their remaining salary cap...

Think they'll still be short by 500k!

Hodge, Mitchell, Burgoyne and are going from year to year with 1 year contract extensions. They're still in our top echelon of players and would be being paid accordingly. A back-ended contract offer to Dangerfield (or any star player) could be made. Frawley is reportedly only on just a little over half per year of what our rumoured offer to Franklin was before he left and given we didn't sign a big name following his departure at the end of 2013 (Ben McEvoy wouldn't be on very much more than Shane Savage was on) a lot of the contract extensions that we did last year were very likely done to restructure existing contracts to front-end them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we managed to land him.

This however I don't believe we will get him
