They'll never set up another team here in WA. Those who don't support West Coast, follow Fremantle. Those who don't support either of the above two, follow interstate clubs. Those who don't following interstate clubs, don't follow footy.

There isn't enough people over here, especially not neutrals and with the mining boom dead (compared to what is was years ago) Perth is more likely to dwindle away, than grow stronger and prosper, especially being the most isolated city on earth with it's house and prices of living.

So a 3rd team in WA... tell him he's dreaming.
Don't like

And the way the current government is talking that may not be for 36 or even 39 years.
I know the Abbott government doesn't like actually having any infrastructure or services ("look at all this money we didn't spend on useful stuff!"), but I don't reckon they're going to raise the pension age to 100.

*checks Wikipedia*

oh wow, Kane is only 31? I got halfway into this post trying to make a joke, but I legitimately thought he was 34 or 35.

Cant make it. Went bit overboard at casino after last game. Housebound till the next game

I went to the Casino too - turned 50 into 100 bucks on three hands of Blackjack :)

Gamble responsibly.

And I'll be at the event - should be great.

Essential Power memberships have sold out!

The club has launched a new membership category called "Gold West" which has all the benefits of Essential Power minus the guaranteed Grand Final ticket.

Wait, Essential Power has a guaranteed Grand Final ticket? I've had Essential Power for all these years and never realised this. Awesome.

Only this year. Previously you had to have platinum and above to secure grand final guarantee.

I used to get Essential Power + Platinum upgrade. This year I didn't need to, just got the Essential Power on its own and put the spare cash towards some merchandise and the Premiership Fund ($10 per win).

I was going to buy an Essential Power membership this year, but considering I'll be away between late May to early September backpacking Europe, I figured I wouldn't get much value out of an Essential Power membership, so went down the General Admission road.

After sitting in the Eastern stand and copping that blinding sun, I'm hellbent on getting myself an Essential Power membership next year. I just hope they'll have a few available for purchase next season? :(

I have a feeling they'll sell out pretty quickly next year but if you get in as soon as they become available it shouldn't be a problem.

I have a sob story to tell...

Here I am, sitting at one end of the breakfast table in the house I'm staying in at Woodcroft, with my host at the other end of the table... when the postie is heard on his bike outside.
A black package appears at the far end of the table... and is opened.
A lanyard appears...
A badge with '2014 Member' appears...
A pen appears...

I sit there, eyes hanging out, thinking of a package arriving at my own kitchen table... a hemisphere away.

By now there are tears in my eyes.

I remind myself that it was I who converted this host of mine into a PAFC Member this year... and here he is, suited up and ready for footy action... while my own equipment is that whole hemisphere away, far out of reach.
He's grinning at me as he slips the lanyard on, pins the badge to his breast and starts doodling with the pen... right in front of me.

I am reminded, too, of my own BF signature: The road to hell is paved with good intentions...

Even though I travel up to 6 months a year, i had a silver membership last year sitting behind the goals at AAMI. I upgraded to Essential Power this year and did not regret it one bit.

I may make it to only a handful of home games this year but all the money still goes towards the club and to sit on the Western Stand is just brilliant.

If you get a chance, no matter what you travel itinerary looks like next year go Essential because, for the games you do make it to, it justifies the price tag.

Welcome to Woodcroft! I also have a pen. Woodcroft....the Pear Pen suburb!

Where the hell are all these people coming from?!? Even 2004 didn't bandwagon this hard, this is some crazy-good marketing.

We really only have a couple of thousand real members.

The rest are made up of:
1. Crows Supporters
2. Pets
3. Magpies supporters who aren't Power supporters.

marketing is clearly outdoing the opposition, crows would be scratching their heads

our branding is just so much better than the crows too

the youngsters are attracted to it, its cool to be a Port supporter,

and with the central location its easy to go to the football, then town after

we should have done it years ago

There are half-a-dozen boatloads of Port supporters in this state who are only just putting their money with their mouth is.

If 41,500 can trek out to a decrepit shithole in West Lakes to see us take on Fremantle for 8th place in 2005, we were always capable of getting well in excess of that many members at a world class centralised stadium nearly 10 years later.
