I've seen WA3 thrown up on an increasing basis as some sort of logical inevitability.

But where is the interest and viability coming from? This isn't a KFC strategy meeting where they discuss entering a market to compete with McDonalds and Pizza Hut. We're talking about a living, breathing football club that requires at least 35000 rusted-on members and a further x-amount of thousands of supporters behind them who will engage intermittently (matchday tickets, merchandise, etc.) with the end result being fortnightly attendances of at least 30000 emotionally and financially invested people.

West Coast, Fremantle and the other AFL clubs have had the better part of 20-30 years to saturate the WA market. Any suggestion that a third team could be built from the ground-up and command a viable marketshare in direct competition with the status quo is as fanciful as the lay calls to wind us up and replace us with a generic composite team were circa 2011.

If raw population numbers and economic wealth equated to AFL club viability Brisbane and the Suns wouldn't be the sardines they are.

With the way Perth is going economically and the fact WA is a footy mad state i don't see how after some considerable time WAIII could gain some traction.

Hell, it's a better idea than Gold Coast.

WA3 will happen, but around the time Kane Cornes applies for the age pension

They'll never set up another team here in WA. Those who don't support West Coast, follow Fremantle. Those who don't support either of the above two, follow interstate clubs. Those who don't following interstate clubs, don't follow footy.

There isn't enough people over here, especially not neutrals and with the mining boom dead (compared to what is was years ago) Perth is more likely to dwindle away, than grow stronger and prosper, especially being the most isolated city on earth with it's house and prices of living.

So a 3rd team in WA... tell him he's dreaming.

I'd also agree with this, as I alluded to in my above post, but there is one small problem being the rivalry between Launceston and Hobart. Where would an AFL team be based? If in Hobart, you might have 'northerners' staying Hawthorn biased. The AFL would have to push fora united Tas supporter base for any successful venture into the Apple Isle
Honestly if that proves to be the deal breaker then they don't deserve one anyway.
2 town solution. Half games in Launy, half in Hobart. There is a very good thread on this in the Footy Industry board.
Wow. It makes so much sense it's scary.

You forgot Dustin Fletcher and Craig Bradley and there are quite a few more. Our oldest player is Domenic Cassisi. This link is to a table of miscellaneous records which includes oldest player. It also includes most games before defeat and Shaun Burgoyne played 14 for us before being in a losing side.

Fletcher and Bradley didn't look like they had passed away while they were still playing. The other two did and with Kane's genetics he could look dead any day now.

Can you upgrade a seat from kid to adult for certain games and if so how?

Does the club get the money or?

What is the usual rise of numbers in membership from post April? Anybody know?

Like what can we expect as our final number

May 11th last year was the date we ticked over 40,000.
So another 2 - 3k could tick over i'd say maybe?

Does anyone have our monthly membership figures for 2007? I'd be interested to see August for 2007.

August 2007 would be the same as 30 June 2007 cut off. The AFL have allowed it to stretch out to August first with there 3 then 2 then 1 game membership in the last few years as they attempt to get their 1 million club members by 2016 goal.
