Hey Knight

Rumor has it Geelong are very interested in Callum Sinclair, a tall forward from Port Melbourne.

Wouldn't surprise me if they were looking at him.

I have Melbourne as the most interested party right now. Some talk they will take him 3rd round.

Yeah, have also heard that Hawks are very into Russell Gabriel (21 y.o Frankston ruckmen) and may look at taking him in the National Draft!

How will the Pies getting Ceglar in the Trade Period effect your Pies Pick Knight?

Assuming something like: Jack for Tarrant + Pick happens.

I expect 2nd round (Luke Mitchell). With Jack gone our forward depth will be pretty ordinary with only Cloke, Dawes and L.Brown. So I expect best available KPF here is very important here.

Not sure whether the club will go with another ruckman (due to adding Ceglar) but with a late pick would make Ben Brown a priority as an eventual L.Brown replacement who can play 80% forward, 20% ruck (once developed).

Also look out for Nathan Phillips as a rookie selection for the Pies. Perfect Paul Medhurst replacement. Mature ager from WAFL who would if selected push for a position in our side.

Will be allot more selections but this would be a starting point as to what the club likely will look at.

Will edit/ start make new thread after trade period is completed.

where is joel wilkinson likely to go? had great draft combine results and was captain of queensland. Or is he zoned to gold coast?

Wilkinson if in the main draft could go anywhere in the 1st-2nd round range. Might go as a QLD zone selection if they still have one available.

I personally rate Wilkinson a top 10 talent in this draft and think he is develop into an out and out star with time.
Name to watch a years down the road.

I commend your efforts, but you could save yourself a heap of troubles and just do a Phantom Draft once you know the draft order and more information about the Draft Combine.

Cheers.

Will continue to edit as I go but will probably create a new thread next week some time.

Willing to put some ideas out there for fans to consider and give a general idea on some of the prospects and where we might be seeing them next season.

Always fun discussing with other draft followers.

Don't mind editing as I go. This would be a sad place without any draft discussion yet.

now the lions have pick #5, who do you see then drafting? I am hoping for either Heppell or Gaff

I'd say they are the likely pair, so it will depend on who WCE pick. Having lost Rischitelli, Brennan and likely Sherman, + with Black and Power nearing the end it is critical for Bris to improve midfield first.

Very true, but I still find it slightly amusing having long debates at who GC will select with pick 5 and then trade week occurs and Brisbane have pick 5 now. Heap of pointless discussion.

I then also enjoy watching the new band wagons, Heppell gets rated in the top 5 on afl.com and people start to edit their mock drafts to include him way higher.

I am looking forward to watching the next few draft bolters and watching names like Darling slide slide slide down the list.

Those early ones are pretty straightforward so there isn't a great deal to change.

Haven't been a bigfooty member for all that long. Only discovered the site September last year, but I do recall there were a number of phantom drafts around at the time, so I thought I'd put something a little original out there since few others have this year. Chris the Fremantle fan is also doing a great job putting together a 3 round draft.

Look out for Tom Lynch to be the next bolter + bandwagon everyone will jump onto. Late bloomer. But very talented KPF. Should finish in the 5-10 range.

They can be fun to watch. My favourite was probably Troy Taylor last year. A few people (myself included) talked up his natural talent, Emma Quayle wrote a few articles about him and suddenly people had him in their top 10.

I think we're already seeing a bit of the BigFooty factor with Brodie Smith and Jack Darling. Think Cameron Guthrie and Isaac Smith might be the bandwagons people jump on this time.

I do commend both Chris and your effort. I come in here to read the thoughts of others, especially when you're based in Perth it is great to get some information from the Eastern States.

I will enjoy seeing your "final" effort to see your thoughts and compare them to my perception of the draft talent.

Hey Knight, have you seen much of Rohan Bewick? Can you tell us more about him as there's not much info about him? How is he for pace and kicking and is he an outside or inside mid?

Cheers.

Haven't seen a whole lot of Bewick. But my impression of him is that he is a clever left footer with a little bit of pace. Skills seem good.

Might get a few opportunities late next year. Showed a fair bit of potential in the WAFL.

KW , do you plan to look at your oder again post the Combine. 32 for Caddy seems a bit late?

Seems to be around the pick 10 mark from all reports. Rated him in the teens for some time but with the order I had he just happened to be one of the unlucky sliders. Certainly will go higher than 32 on the day.

Been some time since i've updated this draft order, but certainly exceeded expectation with his results at the combine and should get rewarded for this.

hey knight...any chance you could update your draft. Or after trade week?

Plan to. Added a fair few descriptions since last updated + updated positions. Likely to update on here next weekend some time once I get a chance to process all trades and adjusted draft positions.

Would like to know zone selections + all prelisted players. But will for now take out those I know of for certain.

Will probably create new thread because still having difficulty logging into old account to edit this.

Cats now have 15, 23, 36, 53, 57 and 58.

Would love for you to arrange the phantom for Caddy to slide to 15 :D

Seriously, I'd say our 2 first round picks will be a good midfielder and key defender.

for those interested in horlin-smith no certainty for the draft at this stage, captained south australian u/17 side and is a prolific run scorer for school and club would not be surprised to see him on the south australian redback rookie squad next year rather than an afl list
